Oddly, the day's hat weirdness had somehow missed Murdock. Maybe it was because he has no more icon space, woa he already had a large assortment of strange hats. And for some inexplicable reason, he'd dug out the cowboy hat this morning.

In a good mood, he headed into work and settled in with some coffee. Bordem soon hit and he decided to make a few random phone calls.

"Are you sure you don't have a wild gopher in your washer? Those things are sneaky, ya know."

The person on the other end of the line gave a rather rude response and promptly hung up. Murdock kept calling around, trying to solve the mystery of the Wild Washer Gopher.
