This was not the hat that Eliza had reached for when she stepped out of her flat today. Yet somehow, inexplicably, here it was. On her head.
She studied it in the mirror behind the refrigerated flower case as she bustled about getting ready to open, and decided that even though it was really rather tiny for a real hat, there was something she liked about it all the same. It made her feel like singing God Save the King, for some reason.
Which may in fact have been what you would catch her humming snatches of, if you wandered into Covent Garden FlowErs today.
