MHA Pool, Sunday Afternoon

After the various encounters along the boardwalk last night, Jason had come back to the apartment he'd woken up in and hadn't slept. Someone knew him here. Someone using an alias he didn't remember and someone demanding he remember memories he couldn't unlock.

He wasn't shaken. Jason didn't get shaken over things. No, he was curious, interested and onto something. He wanted to know who she was and if she was with the organizations that had transformed him from a soldier into a killing machine.

He could remember that. Remember killing so many people. Every detail. He just couldn't remember who.

Because of that, he'd decided to stay close to his point of origin. Staying inside meant he couldn't do any subtle observations so he went outside and, after finding several space heaters around the pool, had taken a seat in a chair and started paging through one of the various files he'd found in the desk in the lobby. Names, dates, contracts. They had to be important.

His life depended on it. He had to find the memories before they found him and killed him. He had to have revenge.

[Look, I'd hate myself if I didn't take full advantage of this weekend. So, open, of course! Swim, don't swim, talk to Jason, or don't! Go wild!

Jason lumbered into the pool area at a jog, his wetsuit hanging over his hips, looking like he'd just come from the chillier ocean water.

"Hey man, how's it going?"

"Cool," Jason replied, bending and stripping the wetsuit off (sadly exposing a pair of wee short instead of his backside) and flinging it over the chair. "The water was a little tamer than I'd like, but it beats being landlocked. You goin' for a swim?"

"Nah, just getting a workout," Jason grinned. "I'm a lifeguard." Because that explained everything.

He dove into the pool, swimming underwater for almost the entire length.

"What? I don't get a day off?" Jason asked. Actually, he didn't know what his hours were. "You the boss around here?"

[identity profile] satedan-soldier.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't think so." He shook his head, sending water droplets flying off the ends of his hair. "I'm the guy the boss sends out to build canoes and shit."

"I worked here yesterday," Jason replied, hooking his elbows over the side of the pool. "Seriously hot girls. No complaints. Well, other than the chick who tried to smack me, but that was the bar."

"No clue," he shrugged his deeply tanned shoulders. "She was all growly when she found me and acted like we'd had some plan or whatever but wouldn't let me buy her a drink. Man, such a waste of chick with energy."

This whole thing was right confusing to Daisy still, but after realizing there weren't much here in the form of a vehicle she could hotwire and 'borrow' to fly right on out of here, she thought she might as well head on back to that swanky apartment and see if there were clues or something.

"Well, gol-ly," she couldn't help commenting with a shake of her head as she passed by the pool again, "ya'all sure like your poolside for it bein' so darn chilly out here."

Of course, maybe if Daisy was wearing more than short shorts and a flannel, her opinion on the temperature might have been a little different.

"I'm missin' a lot more that I'm a lot more worried about than just my pants," Daisy said with a laugh, pulling up a deck chair, turning it backwards to straddle it and rest her elbows on the back of it. "Like my sanity. I feel like I've gone and wound up on the other side of the lookin' glass, or something."

"It isn't much that I get to spend some time outside of old Hazzard County," Daisy explained easily, "especially not much when I don't even realize I'm doing it. And did you know there ain't a single ve-hicle on this island? Not that I can see, anyhow, and that ain't right. Waking up in a swanky apartment you don't know is one thing; not having a car is another thing entirely different."

"A rickshaw?" Daisy asked, trying not to grin. "As good as car? Boy, ya'all really don't drive a lot, do ya? They're not even close."

"An exciting escape in a car's a lot more interestin' than just waltzing on down that causeway," Daisy explained. "And I'm a long way off from home, too, and I've got good legs, but not that good."

"Well," Daisy said, "I am scheduled to work tables at the Boar's Nest tomorrow evenin', and I do have a perfect attendance. Boss Hogg'll be mighty annoyed if I'm late."
