Luke's Diner - Tuesday 2/10

Prince Edwad bounded into the diner today, declaring, "Ah-hah, peasants! I am here! You may work for me now!"

Work still seemed to float over his head.

"Today on the menu you shall serve roasted ogre and blackberry pie!" He clapped his gloved hands together, his sleeves super puffy. "Get on with it!"

The kitchen staff stared and shook their heads and put up the menu board. They were almost certain Prince Edward couldn't read.

Ah-hah!

"Eddie!" Priestly was fairly bouncy, today.

He was still just really, really glad not to be an idiot.

"How's it hanging, man?"

"Priest!" exclaimed Prince Edward gleefully.

Then he looked down at himself.

"Ahh, I believe it is hanging a little to the left!"

Perhaps that is not what Priest meant.

"How's it hanging with you!"

Priestly laughed. "Left as well. You doin' alright?"

"Ah, yes! This is a lovely day! Ah-hah!" His weekend was odd but he would not think on it! It is in the past!

"You are cheerful, Priest! Are you celebrating something?"

"Not being a moron, or in the closet. And I totally got a date for the dance this weekend."

He laughed. "A closet is not for the likes of you, Priest."

...

"There is a dance? Oooh! Joy!"

And Edward probably didn't even know the metaphor. "Yeah, well, I was pretty freaking stupid this weekend. You know, you should ask Adora to the dance."

~~Pats~~ Edward grinned broadly. "Stupid is as stupid does, Priest!" That, uh, didn't apply to him. "Adora!" He clasped his hands together. "Oh, do you think she would like to accompany me?"

"I think she'd love to," Priestly said, deciding not to go into just how amazingly stupid he'd managed to be that weekend. "Couldn't hurt to ask, right?"

My, this was a startling turn-around since the last time they'd talked about asking girls out. Claudia was turning out to be pretty good for him.

He blinked. "Would this be lovely."

"Did you ask someone, Priest?"

A date. A second date with Adora! He must find her! He must ask her before someone else does!

If someone else did he would have to dispatch them! Ah-hah!

"Claudia and I are going ~~assuming work doesn't completely eat my free time~~. She's gonna wear a pink wig."

"Excellent!" he exclaimed hoping it worked out for him as well ~~considering it's my birthday weekend woo! plans!~~ "What is a pink wig?"

"It's a wig. That's pink."

Prince Edward totally gave Priest a look. "And what is a wig?"

"They don't have wigs in Andalasia?"

"Well, Priest, I would better be able to answer that question did I know what one was."

"You know," Priestly said, gesturing to his head vaguely, as though making the shape of one of those absurd curly white things that judges on TV sometimes wore. "Fake hair?"

"Oohoo, faaake hair!"

He had no clue.

"How... fortunate for those that wish to wear it!"

"And bald people."

"Ahhh, yes, quite right." He didn't know a single bald person.

Priestly had a feeling Edward still didn't quite get it.

He was pretty used to that by now.

Blahblahblah.
