Luke's Diner - Tuesday, 2/17

Prince Edward was a tad put out today. That thing Priest told him to do? Well, he might have possibly gotten hooked on doing it. Even before a date. Why not? He woke up in the morning already ready.

Um.

The fact was it wasn't working for him. It didn't work for him this morning at all. He was irritated at that and sat behind the counter, face in hand, contemplating the 'why not's'.

He did manage to get the menu board up.

Romeo was hungry. Romeo was in town.

Therefore, Romeo paid a visit to the diner. "Good morrow," he said, and noticed the long face on the worker at the counter. "Does something trouble you?"

No, it was none of his business whatsoever, but sometimes he was randomly nosy.

"Greetings!" he replied exuberantly, despite his irritated self. "Yes!" Er. "No!"

He could not talk about it!

"Yes, no, perhaps?" Romeo tried, blinking a little himself. "It must be a confusing thing, then, if it is a thing at all."

He bobbed his head. "It is a thing! Ahhh, but it confuses me. It works and then it doesn't!" He shared. "I do not know what to make of it!"

"That sounds like a most perplexing item indeed," Romeo nodded. "have you tried shaking it? Sometimes that either fixes things, or breaks them entirely."

He inhaled sharply. "Oh! I have! I've tried shaking it several times! Alas, all to no prevail. It eludes me, this thing of mine! Granted, I do not try to shake too hard; breaking it would be a terribly awful thing."

Dinah came in before rehearsal, and smiled when she saw the menu. "Hi, Edward. How're you doing?"

"Dinah!" He smiled wide. "I have been better, Dinah! Ahhh, but it is lovely to see you. How are you, my dear?"

"I'm good, Edward." She smiled back, and tilted her head. "Can I get some chocolate milk?"

"Good is good! I enjoy good on occassion!" It took him only a moment to get her her chocolate milk. One of the peasants helped because Prince Edward has since learned that threatening them with his wooden swords works! Ah-hah!

Which had Dinah facepalming. "Edward? Lacey might not like it if you do that. If the staff complains to her, I mean." She sighed, and took a sip of her drink. "Um. Did Adora come by yet?"

He looked down at his now sheathed sword.

"OH! But I would never actually run them through! It would hardly work with wood, Dinah!"

Blink.

"No. Should I expect her?"

Perhaps a little hesitantly, Adora stopped by the diner to see Edward.

"Good day, Prince Edward," she said, smiling a little, bright blue eyes ready to watch for signs that he was upset with her.

"Oooh! Adora! Greetings, Adora!" He beamed, blinking at her expectantly. Surely she wouldn't sense that something was wrong with him, would she?

He seemed normal enough to her, which was a little disappointing. "How are you doing today, Edward?"

"Not very well, I must admit," he replied, his expressionn falling. "But I shall not bore you with... talk about my precious thing. Tell me how you are, my dear one?"

"Not well?" Adora couldn't help feeling sorrow at his sad expression and let her own mission here wait. "Is there anything I could do to help you?"

He shifted, slightly, and squeaked out, "I don't know?"

No sex signs were posted all over the bulletin board. Prince Edward tried not to let it affect him.
