MHA Lobby, Tuesday

Loki had contemplated not coming out to work this morning. He was the boss and he could do what he fucking wanted. There wouldn't have been any rhyme or reason for it save for the fact that he just didn't want to work. But, in the end, he'd decided to come out because he realized he'd be really fucking bored if he didn't.

Of course, he wasn't alone. Having taken advantage of his paycheck, he'd purchased some weird looking video game system and two games to go along with the system.

So, now, Loki was out in the lobby (having dragged his television, wires and all out so he had more room) and was playing the first game. And cussing. Loudly.

"Fucking cheating ass game!" he yelled, scowling. The game wasn't cheating. He just wasn't all that good.

Yet.

[MHA is ooooooooopen! What? I can't live vicariously? Portions of convo with Lindsay are NFB!]

"You sure you don't just suck?" Ronon asked, tilting his head at Loki's TV screen.

"Right," Ronon nodded. "I'm amazed by your ability to ignore the power ups." What? He hung with geeks, he knew things.

"There are tricks to these things," Ronon shrugged. "Didn't you read the manual?" Also known as the book of cheats, but no one told Ronon that.

"Video games," Lindsay said shaking her head as she leaned against the desk. "Seriously, did you just turn twelve?"

"No, I don't want to play," she said hopping up to sit on the counter. "I just came by to hassle you. That's more fun."

"Not bad," she said with a shrug. "Just thought I'd follow up with you because you said you had something to tell. I'm assuming now it was that you suck at video games."

Sarah paused in the lobby -- look, she had a lot of spare time these days, she was totally allowed to spend some of it bothering her landlord -- and was promptly cheered that, well, Loki was getting his ass kicked.

Schadenfreude made for a delicious mid-morning snack.

"Did your reflexes take a vacation?"

"Uh-huh." Sarah said, brattily, but she was grinning. "How long have you been warming up?"

"Tricky controls, huh?" Sarah asked, entirely too amused. "I'll skip the bowing, but can I have a turn?"

She'd played before. Video games were pretty much What Chuck and Morgan Did, and she couldn't escape their bonding sessions entirely.

Besides, it was good practice for ... something or other. Or, okay, it might have just been fun, but try to get her to admit that.

"Hey, just the landlord I was looking for..." Ben started to say. And then he noticed the remote thing in Loki's hand. "What are you doing?"

"I've been completely out of the loop with video games for a while," Ben admitted. "Anyway, yes, you are, in fact, the only landlord I'm looking for. You're also the only landlord I have and the only landlord who can help me, strangely enough. ... Is that whatever the meta would be for Mario Kart if Mario Kart needs a meta?"

"I played that game on an older system," Ben said, flashing back to whatever system makes some kind of sense thanks to Marvel Time. "Anyway, I need to make a complaint about one of my neighbors and the cops suggested that I talk to you about it."
