Covent Garden Flowers, Tuesday
Purple columbine. Cyclamen. Sweetbriar.
Those were the plants Ino had paid for, and then woven into a little crown on top her head. It made her grin because she was the only one who’d even know what the meanings meant.
And Ino was perfectly okay with that. She hummed as she worked, sweeping the floor, and then doing inventory to see what all they had in the store.

Talk to Ino

Re: Talk to Ino
"Thanks," Ino said, tugging at a stray bit of hair. "Just kinda felt like it today, you know?"
Re: Talk to Ino
Re: Talk to Ino
"All of them," she said, with a sharp little nod.
Re: Talk to Ino
Re: Talk to Ino
A beat.
"And, ooooh, what kind of flower?"
Re: Talk to Ino
"I have been very well, thank you," she replied, smiling. "I went to the dance with Hurley and it was nice."
A slight pause.
"The flower is Helaborasoreantalis," she told her. No one else has heard of it, so she was suspecting that Ino might not either.
Re: Talk to Ino
"I'm glad," she said, "I'm guessing you had a good time? I did, with Ichigo."
Yeah, that flower name got a blink. "Can you spell that," Ino asked, bouncing a bit as she grabbed a notepad. "'Cause I don't know what that is, but it's a flower, so now I want to know."
And maybe, you know, get some. For her garden. Ino was ambitious.
Re: Talk to Ino
Smiling still, she spelled the name of the flower: "H-e-l-a-b-o-r-a-s-o-r-e-a-n-t-a-l-i-s. It is uniquely beautiful. It blooms, even in the winter. Just pops up without any help from anyone."
Re: Talk to Ino
She scribbled down the name as it was reeled off. "Ooooh," Ino said, studying the word. "I totally want to see that. It sounds lovely." And, okay, Ino just liked the word. "Helaborasoreantalis." Yes, she liked the word.
Re: Talk to Ino
She beamed at Ino. "Others think it is a long, uncessassary word. Strange perhaps. I think it's beautiful. I've only ever seen it in England, of course, but I would like to see it grown here as well. So perhaps if you can search for it? If that is part of your job description here... I would appreciate it. I'm not certain how to go about it on my own."
Re: Talk to Ino
Job description, or not.
"I'm sure we can track it down," Ino said doodling little hearts on the paper. "I've got plants from... three different worlds kicking around in my garden, so..."
Re: Talk to Ino
Re: Talk to Ino
"Anytime you want!" she said, "I've got a lot in my room, but the real garden is out on the school grounds, so that might be a bit boring 'til the plants come up from the winter and, okay, technically I think it's the school's garden? But I did all the work on it, so it's mine as far as I'm concerned."
Ramble: on!
Re: Talk to Ino
Re: Talk to Ino
"Stop by my room sometime this week then? 'Less you're too busy?" A beat. "And I'll want to see what you know before deciding either way," she said honestly, but cheerfully, because when it came to plants Ino was picky. "But I totally have no issues with getting help out in the garden. It's kinda, uh, large." No kidding. "But no one's said anything 'bout it being too big, so I think we're good with the administration still."
Re: Talk to Ino
Re: Talk to Ino
"I might've guessed," she admitted. "But it's nice to see you're out and about--you've been doing that a bit more? Do Thursday or Friday work for you at all?"
Re: Talk to Ino
Re: Talk to Ino
A beat.
"Thursday afternoon then, I'll expect you," she said, grinning. "So that Friday is free."
Re: Talk to Ino
She nodded, smiled. "Thursday it is!" Though she had nothing at all planned for Friday. But it was only Tuesday, wasn't it?
"I'll see you then, and thank you again for checking into that flower for me."
Re: Talk to Ino
Well, technically, neither did Ino have anything planned for Friday, but there was plenty of time to fix that. "Not a problem," Ino chirped, because she definitely had an ulterior motive for finding a flower with a name like that, "and you have a good day, yeah?"
