Because between fire drills and little green deer and pets and being frustrated in so many ways dammit, Reno figured the trees could take the abuse.

If something other than trees wanted to join in on the cathartic 'smacking shit around,' Reno wouldn't be opposed in the least.

"I will never turn down a drink," Reno said solemnly. And then he was grinning to match. "You want anything to go with that Blizzaga? You're gonna need the armor to go with it, yo."

By 'armor,' he was referring to that wee wristband, yes.

"Ice-immunity, maybe, like I got immunity to lightning in mine? And the other materia I got in there does the pyramid thing. You want that? Or somethin' that casts, like, slow? Shit, man, I could write you a list. It'll be like shoppin'. You're good at shoppin', ain't you? I can't promise any more slots than I got, though. The more openings for materia, the harder it is to find, especially now."

Romeo tilted his head to the side, considering this, as he peeled off the wristband. "Make me a list," he said. "I don't know how to choose something like this. I need your guidance. Don't worry about the cost."

"Gil ain't an object, huh? I won't worry 'bout it, then. I'll write it down, and we can poke through it together, then. We can see what we can match up to make it work for you best, yoto."

He held out his hand to take his EMR back, grinning.

"Shit, man. This'll be awesome."

Romeo pressed it into his hand. "I knew there was a reason you were my best friend."

Reno laughed as he fastened his wristband again.

"I should'a knew it, yo. You only love me for my Materia."

He'd cope, somehow.

"And your red hair," Romeo agreed, so terribly serious. "I'd dye mine but I don't think it would look good that long."

"Hate to say it man, but you'd look like a girl if you grew out your hair." A beat. "I mean, a real hot girl, but, still."

He shrugged, and then unhooked the baton from his wristband and fastened it to his belt. He didn't have to carry it around everywhere. It was just more fun, that way.

"I'll make up that list as soon as I can, and we can go over it over break or whatever. We don't gotta get the materia at the same time as the baton, anyhow. That shit's easy to find, yo. Nobody wants to use it no more, on Gaia."
