So. Rikku was here. In a fabulous mood. Honest. Not slamming things around at all. Much.

Okay, so it was a frustrating day here at the Wellspring Arms. Maybe she'd go and shoot some things.

A not-cranky Momoko skipped her way into the Wellspring after classes. She wanted to see Rikku's face when she saw the pictures from PE and to find out if she was going on the cruise and in general just to say a cheerful, "Hiii, Rikku!"

"Hiya," Rikku said. It was an attempt at cheer. She did not want her little sib to think she was snubbing her. Or to traumatize the girl by explaining the nature of her frustration. "What's new with you?"

Momoko skidded to a stop. Whoah. Not her normal self was Rikku. "Oh man, it got you, didn't it? The whatever that's making everyone upset and fight-y."

IT TOOK RIKKU! AH! WHEN WILL IT END?

She let her shoulders sag. She'd almost forgotten, having had such a nice day so far. "Will I annoy you more by being here? I'm not affected, for once, so I'm my usual hyper self. I can go and just show you the pictures later, if you want? I don't mind!"

"Oh," Rikku said, and now she was bright red. "Oh! No, I, uh. I'm just."

Time to hop around the counter for a quick squeezy hug. "Not annoying. At all. I'm probably gonna go shoot things later. It's, uh."

This? This was a very meaningful pause.

"You really don't want to know," she said carefully.

That, at least, was very, very true.

She hugged back. "If you want to tell me about it, you can, you know! You listened to me being all moody about Blossom, but I'd be perfectly willing to listen even if you hadn't!"

She hesitated a moment, then added, "I know you said you're going to go shooting later, but would it make you feel better if I said I had pictures of Reno doing cheerleading?"

Hmmmm. How could she explain without ... completely destroying Momoko's adorable wide-eyed innocence.

Well.

"People are kinda ... grumpy 'cause Fandom keeps interrupting their alone-time," she said. So far, so good. "And so you're going, 'hey, I wanted to sit and snuggle with my boyfriend a little,' or, 'I just wanted to unwind,' and Fandom's being cranky about it. Which just makes people more tense. Vicious cycle."

That was totally mostly true. It kinda gave the wrong impression, but it wasn't all that far off.

And that's when the rest of it caught up with her. "... cheerleading?"

"It can't be snuggling..." There was some clicking and whirring as Momoko started to piece together various conversations and comments. Then there was some flailing and blushing. "Rikku! I'm not FIVE anymore! I know what," her voice dropped to a whisper, "...sex is, I just... and don't... I mean..." Flailing and blushing still happening, please enjoy the show.

"And that's what's been going on? Or, not, I guess, and argh! this place is so weird. No wonder I wasn't 'affected'." She finally stopped flailing but the blush was still there as she reached for her phone and found the pictures. "We have PE together, and we were cheerleaders today. Press the blue button to see the next." She handed the compact to Rikku with the first picture showing. It was a fairly good shot of the full uniform as he prepared to jump.
