MHA Lobby, Tuesday

It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the island was a lot fucking quieter this week. The radio pointed to most of the school (and some of the adults) being away on some sort of cruise. Even Biff, that fucker. It was almost like cosmic payback for making Biff fail at video games.

Loki had thought about bringing the game system out to pass the time but decided he wasn't really in the mood. He'd tried reading but it was boring. He'd even tried working but that was more boring than reading. Deciding that, if everyone else got a Spring Break, he wanted one to, Loki decided to just relax.

He turned off the main lobby lights, leaving the Christmas moods light on and hopped up onto the desk. He flicked the radio onto some sort of smooth jazz station (boring in most situations but nice for relaxation) and tucked his jacket under his head to use as a pillow.

Feet crossed at the ankle, Loki twisted to one side and reached into a drawer to get out a blue rubber ball which he proceeded to start tossing up into the air and catching it as it came down. He was truly a talented man.

[MHA, she is open!]

Daisy wasn't in any particular hurry to get to the station to do little more than either listen to complaints or complain herself about how quiet it was.

"Morning, Loki."

"Just wait," offered Daisy, grinning. "In a few days, maybe our humble karaoke band will become an orchestra."

"At least it'd be something other than pining," said Daisy, hand over her heart. "Besides, it could be an interesting population influx; one of my favourite presenters at that Cop Convention a while back told me all about the benefits of recruiting zombies into the police force."

"Biff," said Daisy. "I told him I would. Poor thing; never gets any attention and has to go off on some wretched cruise."

And she almost managed to say that with a straight face, too.

"Poor you, too," simpered Daisy in genuine sympathy, really. "Although you know there's always Tino."

"Well," Daisy reasoned, "it'd sure beat sitting around waiting for zombies."

"I do," said Daisy. "But you're the one saying you've been abandoned with no one you like around."

"I told you how you could liven it up," said Daisy, archly, smirking back, "and you soundly rejected it. But that's okay. The quiet is kind of nice, but if you've any other ideas, I'd love to hear them."

That certainly quirked Daisy's eyebrow.

The flying bit. The former bit she pretty much took as a given.

Then she let out a long, slow whistle. "I'd have to trust a guy an awful lot for something like that," she noted.

"I can't imagine you do," said Daisy. "It'd be a little conspicuous. I'm not sure I feel entirely worthy of the honour, although I'll bet I'm pretty easy to carry."

Daisy just looked at Loki a moment, shaking her head with a faint grin. "It'd definitely be something to help me get through work," she mused.
