Town Hall, Afternoon

Robin
Robin so needed to take more pride in her work. Days like this, where not a whole lot was happening, resulted in things like the current situation, where she was filing her nails instead of paperwork.

Fraser
"You look absolutely enthralled," Fraser said, pushing through the front door and grinning at her.

Robin
"My job is fascinating," she said, smiling at him as he came in.

Fraser
"Yes, you seem very into it," he said and took a seat in one of her chairs. "How are you, honey?"

Robin
"Tan," she said, smiling and stretching her legs out as she put her feet up on her desk.

Fraser
"And not afraid to show it," he laughed. "Should you do that at your desk?"

Robin
"I'm the boss right now, and I say yes," she told him happily.

Fraser
"Authority suits you," he said and grinned. "You look very pleased with yourself."

Robin
"Don't I always?" she asked, grinning.

Fraser
"Sometimes more than others," he said. "You look gorgeous today."

Robin
"Vacations do that to me," she said, beaming at him.

BAD Girls
"Mayor seems like a step down from 'world savior'," Asp said, stalking airly into the building. "Which room--?"

"This way," Black Mamba replied, nodding her head. "Big boss hasn't been amping up his security as much as expected."

"Of course, considering how much armament he carries..."

"Good point," Black Mamba said, with a cursory smile. "Ready?" She reached inside for her powers-- had to be ready with this guy-- and burst into the office. "Cable--"

And they stopped.

Robin
Robin raised her brows at the...people. "Um, he's not in right now," she drawled. "Can I help you?"

Fraser
"Looks like you have to actually do your job," Fraser teased quietly.

Black Mamba
"I'm Black Mamba," the one in black introduced herself. One glimpse at the man told her she made a good call in wearing the zipper lower today. In case she needed the edge. "And this is Asp. Cable-- Mayor Summers promised us a package, but we're about a day late and it's urgent. We'd like to know where he is, if it's not too much of a hassle."

Robin
Robin privately decided two things.

One, these people's parents had clearly hated them.

And two, they were kind of shady.

"I'm the deputy mayor and acting authority in Mayor Summers' absence," she replied, moving her feet off her desk and trying to look way more professional. "I'd be happy to pass anything along to him, or try to get this package for you myself if you tell me what it is."

Asp
Asp shot Mamba a look, but the merc didn't acknowledge it. "I'm afraid it's out of your juridistiction," she said, "It concerns his previous position as head-of-state."

Fraser
Fraser remained quiet, letting Robin do her job but memorizing details about these particular characters since they weren't familiar.

Still, even if he let Robin do her job, he was glad he was here for this.

Robin
"Well, I'll be delighted to take a message," she said brightly, looking expectant. "But I'm afraid I can't really put you in touch with Mr. Summers at the moment."

Black Mamba
Another unspoken message went from Asp to Mamba and back by ways of distinct looks. "It's about the baby," Mamba tried, at last. If these people knew Cable at all... "It's really urgent. Please."

Robin
"Have you tried his cell?" she asked dryly, trying to keep any surprise from actually registering on her face.

BAD Girls
"Are you sure you're Cable's deputy?" Mamba asked, crossing her arms.

Asp gave Robin a look that roughly mirrored Mamba's. "Like the big guy carries a cell."

Robin
Robin just shrugged. "I don't know what else to tell you, ladies. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have lots of work to do."

BAD Girls
More looks were exchanged. "We could just leave," Asp said.

"But that won't get us any closer," Mamba noted, holding up a hand.

Asp sighed. "That leaves us only one solution."

"You're coming with us," Mamba finished, "The easy way or the hard way."

Hostages could be a pain in the butt, but this was a big one.

Robin
"Um. No, I'm not," Robin said, falling somewhere between annoyance and panic. She shot Benton a look.

Fraser
"She's not," Fraser said, finally saying something and standing up at the same time. "I'd suggest you leave before this escalates further than it has to and stop making unnecessary threats."

Asp
"I can assure you, our threats are rarely unnecessary," Asp replied, showing some teeth. "So what'll it be?"

"Don't worry," Mamba said, already lifting her hands, "The hard way's not that bad."

Robin
"I'm not going with you at all," Robin said, now actually getting kind of scared and trying not to look at her hands as a tipoff while she fumbled for her phone. "So, neither."

Fraser
Fraser tried to put Robin behind him as much as he could while facing the two visitors.

"If you don't leave, I'm going to place you under arrest. I'd suggest leaving," he said, voice growing a little colder. "She isn't going with you."

BAD Girls
"I think that means the hard way," Asp observed, with a lift of her eyebrow.

"Oh," Black Mamba spoke, grinning a big one, "You're going to enjoy this..."

She raised her hands, calling. Whisps of darkness curled up behind her, springing into deep shadows, slipping across every inch that didn't contain Asp or herself. Darkforce energy. It shifted things, shifted minds, but most importantly, it'd distract their new guests until they were done.

Robin
Robin abruptly was faced with several small, rambunctious little boys with large blue eyes and dark hair.

"Mom? Mommyyyyyyyyyy. Mom!"

And secretly, she loved it, even if she was completely confused.

Fraser
When Fraser blinked, there were two different hands in each of his, tugging him towards some nondescript door. He blinked again, trying to recognize who was tugging him but all he could pinpoint were two dark heads of hair (one curly, one straight) and the hints of smiles as they turned their heads back towards him.

He had no idea what was going on.

BAD Girls
"Hurry up," Black Mamba gritted out, "I can't keep this one up much longer."

"Gotcha," said Asp, and she rushed forwards, binding them quickly. They had to be far, far away from here before either of them snapped out of it: Cable would no doubt bring hell to pay if they didn't watch their backs.

Playing in the big leagues wasn't always fun.
