Digging through a stack of new comics to keep them organized, Teddy had found himself distracted by the fact that--somehow--a deck of Pokemon meta Pocket Monster cards had ended up in there.

And now he couldn't stop looking the new ones over and mentally complaining about how they were better when he was a kid.

"Comics," Was Teddy's only response. Because there was coffee!

Chad grunted, this one asking if there were any interesting ones, like he usually did, not because he cared but because he figured Teddy always liked talking about comics that made no sense to Chad. To prepare himself for any such answer, he was definitely sipping his coffee.

"Just the new evil regime taking over, like, all the series. It'll either be awesome or suck."

He was betting on suck.

Chad grunted in agreement.

"Always an evil regime," he noted, with the muttered with the wisdom of an only slightly polysyllabic sage.

"At least it's better than, like, everything randomly being retconned."

"Retcon?" It was too early for geek-speak. "Translate, please."

It was not! It was never too early! "When they go back and change things that already happened."

Chad scratched the back of his neck a little before reaching into the bag for a donut. "They can do that?"

"Do they at least work time travel into it somewhere to make a vain attempt at sense?"

Teddy gave him a look for that one. "Not in the slightest."
