Out of the blue, Gunther announced that he would quit if Mary got a dog. She couldn't quite figure out where this came from, but she managed to give him a real guilt trip, talking about how lonely she was and what a shame that she couldn't at least get a dog to keep her company. By the time she was done, Gunther was almost in tears and totally ready to take back what he said.
