Just Outside the Gates, Friday After Dark

She-Ra and Swift Wind had spent the day flying above Fandom and saving as many people as they could (aka Ned) from the walking dead who roamed the streets.

Now, the pair were stationed at the gate on this dreary night, hoping to stop any unfortunate creatures from entering the school grounds after dark and potentially talk them down from causing further harm to themselves or others. She-Ra hailed from a world with rainbow trees and talking brooms -- no matter what Buffy said, she had to try to talk it out first.

"I think the weather means to convey a sense of foreboding, Swifty." Like the unicorn was going to disagree with that sentiment. He shook his wings dry and snuffled in anticipation.

[Open to PCs, NPC zombies, PC zombies. So that's everyone, yes.]

Jaina had been out handwavily, la this morning, and looked a little worse for wear when she arrived back at the gates, mostly to get a new blaster. As much as she'd like a shower and a change of clothes, that just seemed pointless right now.

She did have to raise an eyebrow at anyone actually stationing themselves at the gates, though.

"You can't take two steps without running into one of them, so, no," Jaina said, eying her. She had no idea who she was. She didn't care. "Have you seen many this far in?"

"Cheerful thought," she said dryly, though she turned to watch just in case. "I suppose it's too much to ask that someone's called for extraction." You know, once upon a time she'd have laughed at the no, seriously, come get me way of doing things. Now she kept ending up in the situations where they became a really good idea.

This was unlike anything Zayne had ever felt. He wasn't particularly strong in The Force, but even he was sensitive enough to feel the terrifying waning of life in town, even from the dorms. Out of sheer curiosity, he had to come out to get closer to it. He wasn't going into town - it wasn't time for actions that would probably count as suicide just yet - but this was close enough.

If Zayne survived this, he was pretty sure Master Lucien wouldn't send him back to a planet where an entire town was wiped out by some kind of zombie plague.

Zayne was, quite frankly, thinking too much, and that's why it took him a minute to notice the girl with the animal that kind of looked like an Earth horse, only with wings. And a horn. "Hi," he said. "What are you doing out here?"

[identity profile] cataclysmicluck.livejournal.com 2009-04-04 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Have you seen any come close?" Zayne asked. He figured that the gates would act as some kind of deterrent. Maybe that wasn't the case.

[identity profile] cataclysmicluck.livejournal.com 2009-04-04 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
"No, not at all. I'm ready for one, just in case," Zayne said, unclipping his lightsaber from his best and turning it on. "But I'm here just to get a better impression of what's going on out there."

Éowyn had seen people gathered around the gates in the morning, but she had not felt prepared to help stand guard until now, and she was pleased to see that she might not have to hold their defenses on her own. "Good evening," she said. "Has it been quiet here?"

[identity profile] outofthecage.livejournal.com 2009-04-04 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
"I would be honored to join you," she said with a gentle smile. "Have you ever encountered creatures such as these? I am finding it difficult to believe they could be real."

[identity profile] outofthecage.livejournal.com 2009-04-04 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
"It sounds as though the people from your home world are very strong," Éowyn said, sounding impressed.

A one-handed, one-eared form shuffled towards the gates, looking a little forlorn. Well, as much as a zombie can look forlorn.

It was portly, smelled of bacon, and was rather pathetic on the whole.

Poor zombie Hurley all it wanted was a friend.

"Duuuuuuude," it groaned.

[identity profile] likes-chicken.livejournal.com 2009-04-04 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
The zombie Hurley pulled his left hand out of his pocket, and held it out.

"Duuuuuude?"

It was almost like he was asking for help, the poor thing.

[identity profile] likes-chicken.livejournal.com 2009-04-04 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Duuuuuuuuude," Hurley groaned. It tried to put the hand back on the end of the arm it belonged to.

The hand ended up just falling to the ground, since it wouldn't just magically stay on.

Well armed -- with boomerang, machete, and now an improvised flame thrower as well -- Sokka headed to the gates.

"The undead SHALL NOT PASS!" he declared dramatically.

[identity profile] sarcasm-guy.livejournal.com 2009-04-04 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Sokka fired off a short jet of flame, to demonstrate. "If you want one, they're making them just back there (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/1610503.html)," he pointed. "Inside."

Blossom saw a crowd gathered at the gates and she dropped down just out of sight (she hoped? maybe?) to change back to Momoko and see what was going on.

"Uhm. Why is everyone just standing out here?" Momoko asked. She wasn't sure who was in charge but it was an odd thing, just standing around when there were monsters out there.
