Freelance Police HQ [Monday]

Triela had felt that her job was something of an odd joke since she'd been hired. She wasn't even sure what the Freelance Police did other than place her under arrest on an irregular basis. But after the past week Triela had decided that maybe having another group of armed people around, especially if they thought of it as their job to protect the community.

Not that she was entirely sure that's how her bosses thought...

Still, it was with something approaching actual interest that she went about her assigned duties when she arrived. She even remembered to make sure Leonard got something to eat.

Who's businesslike and efficient today.

It felt like it had been an eternity since Lion-o last saw Triela at the Girls With Guns meeting. "Hi Triela! Wow, what a week. Zombies and even more zombies! How did you manage over the weekend?"

"It has been a week," Triela agreed, shaking her head at the thought. "I mostly managed with a shotgun and a whole bunch of ammo. How about you?"

"I ended up getting some much-needed practice with my sword," said Lion-o. "By the end of it, it was a lot of fun cutting up zombies. But it was also good to know that I could use a gun as back-up."

Despite her sarcasm toward Arthur regarding his use of a sword during the whole matter, Triela shrugged. "Swords aren't bad, I guess, but they're not nearly as efficient in my experience." In the terrible math of bodies per minute, Triela preferred guns.

"Yeah, with a sword, you can only take out on zombie at a time. Guns seemed a lot more efficient," agreed Lion-o. "But my sword is a ~~plot device~~ family heirloom, so I need to be comfortable using it."

"That makes sense," Triela nodded thoughtfully. "And there's something to be said for using a weapon you're familiar with." There was a reason Triela preferred a gun which had been designed over a hundred years ago.

"Right! When you're about to get bitten, it's not the time to be fumbling around with something you don't know how to use," said Lion-o.

"Precisely," she grinned. "Which is why I practice with so many different things. It's best just to be familiar with everything."

"Sounds almost like the Thundercats. They make up my father's ruling council back home, and each one has a different way of fighting. When they come together as a team, they can conquer anything," said Lion-o.

"I guess it's sort of like that back home. Most of the girls specialize. I mean, I'm a decent sniper, but Rico's better at it. And Henrietta's really good at infiltration." Though 'Etta's skills had as much to do with her being flat-out adorable as being a good actress.

Lion-o nodded. "It sounds familiar. Panthro is the strongest one, Tygra is the most skilled diplomat, Cheetara is the fastest, Jaga is the best with a sword, and the Thunderkittens are the cleverest," he said. "I think my father is supposed to be good with the sword as well, but I've never seen him fight."

"Really?" Triela asked, intrigued. "Maybe he's just in charge..." It wasn't like the people in charge back home fought. They had too much managing to do.

"My dad was blinded after he received injuries in battle. He can still fight to defend himself, but now he leaves the fighting to his warriors, especially Jaga," explained Lion-o. "He and Jaga both act as leaders for the Thundercats."

"So Jaga's sort of the second in command." Triela pursed her lips, thinking of Jean. "Do you like him?"

"Yeah, he's great! He's like a second dad to me," said Lion-o.

Triela can't help but smile just a bit at the enthusiasm. "Good, then."

Because she really rather detested Jean. Or whatever close approximation she could manage under all the conditioning.

She'll even answer the phone professionally today!

Ah. Monday.
