The Park: Saturday Morning

For the island? It was one of its favorite times of the year.

As soon as the decorations for the prom started to fall at the Town Hall, a flicker of light appeared at a familiar section in the park.

The flicker grew to a small beam which then grem to a bigger beam and then to a full blown shiny and twirly portal from which small children could jump out of.

Yes. The kid invasion had begun.

And really anyone who's been on the island for the last three years should have expected this by now.

[For the the entrance of the kidlets. My apologies for not getting this up earlier than I should have.]

Having lived at the BPRD for a good portion of his young life and the fact that he had a demon for a father and a pyrokinetic for a mother, Trevor Sherman knew enough about the supernatural to know that when a portal appeared it wasn't generally a good thing.

Curiosity getting the better of him, Trevor had gotten closer to the portal to look at it better when he got sucked through.

"Wow, cool!" he exclaimed when he stepped out through the portal and ended up in a park of some kind. Recognizing the island from photos that his mother had, he knew enough to know that this place was Fandom and that there was a chance that his mother was there somewhere and so he started to go off looking for her.

John William knew portals were bad. First thing he remembered learning was how portals were bad and they fucked up your life. Yeah, he could swear. There was no one here to stop him from doing it, and besides, it was just inside his head.

Besides, if he managed to find his Dad? Things would be all cool again, and that was worth whatever they did to him. Although, with the way things were at home, he wondered if his mom and Uncle Sam would even miss him.

Cas had heard all the lectures about portals being bad as well, but sometimes you had to be bad to do good. Or so he kept trying to explain to his Dads whenever he was being punished.

So he didn't really think about not stepping through before he did and ended up in a park with many other kids.

John William nodded over at the other kid, then resumed scanning the area for his dad.

Cas looked curiously at the older boy. "You feel like Daddy," he said.

Gawain had been practicing with his sword with the purple swirly thing appeared and sucked him right out of his yard, thank you very much, who's good idea was that, and now he was in the middle of a park with a million skillion other kids.

Okay, this rocked. But someone had to get him another sword.

Kathryn had left her family quarters when the portal had appeared. The last time it had happened had been three years ago and she had been with her sister Sabrina.

Sabrina was in the holodeck along with Greskrendtregk and both her parents were on duty, she knew that she shouldn't deliberately go through the portal but she had only been four the last time it happened and part of her wanted to see Fandom again so she went through the portal.

When she came through it she look around, "this place hasn't changed at all since the last time I was here,"

[identity profile] futurestarfleet.livejournal.com 2009-04-11 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
A minute later out of the portal appeared Little Sam, she blinked as she stared around and then she noticed the other girl who had the same horns that she did, "you're like me!" she cried.

[identity profile] futurestarfleet.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Kathryn stared at the girl, "who are you?" she asked, having never seen her before.

"Samantha, Samantha Wildman-Burton," she said, "what's your name?"

It wasn't like Katrina hadn't time-slid before. Or gone through vertexes. But usually Dad was with her, or Dad and Mom. Someone was going to be really upset about her doing this by herself.

Wherever she was, there were a lot of other kids there. Time to figure out what was going on before people back home freaked out and started calling the police and stuff.

Hoban took a good look around and sighed. Another go se border planet. Except...huh. That maybe looked like pictures of her ma's old school like she'd seen in holos.

Maybe this wouldn't be as bad as it looked. She shoved her hands in her back pockets and sauntered towards the nearest food depot and ignored the voice in her head that sounded like her ma saying something about her having her papa's gift for plannin'.

Aunt River would find her eventually anyway. She always did.

When Blake popped out of the portal, he narrowed his eyes and looked around suspiciously, like a cop, just like Mom and Dad always taught him.

There was the matter of how he'd gone through a portal without authorization, but Blake was just a kid, after all. He wasn't subject to the rules handbook yet.

Plus it had been cool and sparkly.

Well, time to explore, now. Maybe he'd get to fight something. That'd be awesome.

[identity profile] liltimeheadache.livejournal.com 2009-04-11 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe he would, because he was nearly bowled over by a tumbling ball of boy exactly the same size as him, who came hurtling out of the portal.

"Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooo!" Kit whooped gleefully.

[identity profile] liltimeheadache.livejournal.com 2009-04-11 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hey!" Blake went sprawling in the grass, but popped to his feet with his hands up in guard position and his feet planted in -- oops, he had his stance backwards and quickly corrected it.

Then he got a good look at his attacker.

". . . whoa."

Jessy had been at the sietch, playing on a dune and watching for Makers, and then here was a sandstorm and she was here. Which was green and didn't look like Arrakeen and had way too many other kids here. She pouted and crossed her arms. "This isn't home!"

[identity profile] newlances.livejournal.com 2009-04-11 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
WHoooooooooooooooa. Thud.

Malcolm landed on his butt in the middle of the grass, tumbled a few times, then stared around. What was that?

[identity profile] nonenamedboaz.livejournal.com 2009-04-11 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

Okay, that was way too fun! Like surfing, but not, and where did all these other kids come from? Lena turned around and around and around, then bounced on her toes, trying to fgure out what just happened.

Gene knew he wasn't supposed to go near anything that might possibly be described as shiny, twirly, or portally, on pain of having to stay with Grandma Williams. Without his computer.

Unfortunately, he seemed to have inherited all of his parents' lack of good sense and was definitely not in Cardiff any more.

[identity profile] weechesters.livejournal.com 2009-04-11 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Sammi was not supposed to go near portals. And she was not supposed to be outside by herself without telling Mommy and Daddy (even though she just went into the back yard).

And she prob'ly shouldn't have chased the butterfly into the shiny twirly thing. But she did.

And now she was here and there were lots of other kids and Mommy was going to be very worried and upset and Daddy was going to tell her she had to be more 'sponsible if she was going to get to go hunting with him when she was bigger.

And the butterfly was gone.

It was Saturday morning, which meant that Ichigo was crossing the park, carrying a bag of pastries and hot chocolate to bring to Ino.

He wasn't quite sure what all the kids were doing in the park, his first thought were students and he wondered if he was going to run into a young Ino when he finally did make it to the clinic. At least he was still his normal age.

"Otosan!" Isae said, spotting him in a heartbeat, and bouncing over. "There was a portal! And the weather's different here!"

[identity profile] first-guardian.livejournal.com 2009-04-11 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
It must have been selective hearing that made Ichigo miss the first part. Really, even if he did hear it, it must have been nothing more than a mistake.

"Yeah, Fandom tends to do that," he agreed, trying to remember all the redheaded students at school.

The way Morgana came flying out of the portal, you'd think she'd been shot out of a catapult or something. And if she in fact had, she looked like she'd enjoyed it.

Oooh, it was the park. She recognized it. The question now was where Mom and Dad were.

Maybe if she just listened for the yelling she could find them?

[identity profile] skycrawlers.livejournal.com 2009-04-11 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
A tiny hyper ball of barefooted, blond, black-clad Force-sensitive (not that you could tell that part by looking at him) boy tumbled out of the portal and bounced to his feet.

He shut his eyes, poked the tip of his tongue out of the corner of his mouth, and concentrated hard until he could pick out Mommy in the Force; it was always easier than trying to find Daddy, because sometimes he hid.

When King had a sense of where to find her, he stopped for a moment, wiggled his toes in the grass, then bounded off. It was a Very Important Mission, finding his parents.
