Fight Club, Atlas Gym, Sunday Evening

Anyone coming to fight club this week would see the ball pit and piles of mats from weetiny weekend set up again, along with some colorful punching bags.

Which the adults could play with too, if they wanted.

Tyler wasn't dressed for a fight, and the curly-headed little girl who he kept glancing back at as he talked probably gave an indication as to why.

Estella, it turned out, hated fighting. She was pouting quite a bit just about being in the gym.

But he'd do his job, even if he looked exhausted. "Right, so you know why you're here. Guests, welcome, play nice. Atreides, got anything to add?"

Ghanima had a small blonde child balanced on her hip, and an older red-haired girl stood nearby, blue-on-blue eyes watching everything with interest. These two children, at least, clearly took after her. "Those not normally residents of this island who are under the age of ten must have permission from their 'parents' before hitting the sparring mats," she said firmly. She wouldn't put it past any of the people present to have children with mildly violent tendencies. "Otherwise, have fun."

Leto was here, children in tow. Because what better way to keep young Fremen occupied than make them practise fighting. It was however requiring a lot of his attention to keep an eye on them, which meant he might have to give up the idea of any sparring himself, unless he could hand over responsibility.

Hey, Reno wasn't going to miss Fight Club just because he had kids with him, today.

Maybe he'd just scoot them off toward the ball pit, or something...

Jack was here with Samantha, who looked just like Jack (except for the wee!tiny, the girlpart, and the forehead hornds). They were putting up their dukes at each other for play.

Dinah was there, with all her kids in two. Malcolm made a bee-line for the ball-pit, Jess headed for her Aunt Ghanima, and Lena and Gawain were eyeing each other like they might start shoving each other. Again.

Dinah looked like she wanted a nap.

"There's a fight club?" Blake was asking in a tone halfway between horror and awe as he tagged along after Jen and a much more eager Kit into the gym. "It has rules and everything, right?"

Isae had opted to spend some time reading up in Ino's room, so Ino had, after checking the time, brought Ken down to the gym.

"This," she said to the seven year old who stuck close to her, "is a pretty recent thing, you know? But it's fun, and keeps people from losing their edge quite so much. The ball pit isn't normally around.

"It's for those who don't fight," Ken said, nodding. "Am I allowed to fight, Okaasan?"

Ino ruffled his hair. "If you want, totally."

There were....kids...in fight club again.

Minsc didn't know how he felt about this.

He just hoped that the kids were good enough to know their stuff!

Couldn't ever start training them too young!

Play-Area

There's the punching bags, well-padded mats, and a large ball pit. Go play King of the Mountain or something, and don't bother the adults unless someone breaks an arm.

After her mama had finished talking, Noree made a beeline for the balls as fast as her little legs could carry her. Toys!

Eventually, Estella wanted down to go play with people her own age; she found a corner of the play area and started building a mountain of blocks.

Lena was ignoring the fighting stuff for now. She was practicing her somersaults, and her cartwheels, and walking on her hands, and trying to do a decent round-off. Like Daddy did, when he was a cheerleader!

Pssht, Blake could go punch things like the big uptight dummy he was. Kit was going to be over here in the ball pit, thanks, pretending to be a shark.

The Beginner Mats

This week, the same punching dummies set-up for the children are also available for the bigger kids, so that they can practice their punching with glee!

Sam was Determined as she faced the punching dummy, arms cocked like a 1950's bareknuckle fighter as she started her attacks.

Blake found a punching dummy and set to practicing with a Very Serious Face, just like his dad.

Much like his mom, too, he didn't look like he was having fun, even though he was.

Okaasan had said he could fight if he wanted to, but Ken decided on practicing his punches instead while she kept an eye on him and offered bits of advice.

After getting a subtle nod from Ghanima, Elaine stepped up to the mats to find a partner.

While she wasn't pre-born like her mother, she was still Fremen and trained by the Aryeh of Atreides. Taking down an adult unarmed would be a challenge, but not impossible.
