The Arms Hotel Lobby, Thursday [5/7]

Hoshi was trying to be stoic today. "Well, Gunther, I don't know when I'll get to see you again," she said. "Miss Connell told me that I can have my job back in the fall, but if things go well with Starfleet this summer, they may want to keep me there."

She was totally appalled when Gunther started cheering over her leaving.

She is not freaking out about leaving for the summer, really.

Dani marched straight to the front desk. "Excuse me, but I have a complaint. That chef just sexually-harassed me in the elevator," she said.

Hoshi sighed. "What did he do this time?" she asked.

"He rode the elevator downstairs with me and stared at my chest the entire time," said Dani. "It was creepy!"

"Hang on a second, ma'am. Gunther, can you come over here for a second?" asked Hoshi.

As soon as Gunther got within range, Hoshi slapped him hard across the face. "Bad Gunther! You behave or else I'm locking you in the closet again. Just because I don't the rest of the union to back me up doesn't mean I can't take you out!"

Dani just gawked. "You people are insane!" she said. "And what was your name again, anyway?"

She needed to report this lunatic to Mary. The nice woman deserved to know what kind of maniacs she had working for her.

"I'm Hoshi Sato. You'll usually see me on Thursdays, except that today's my last day. I'm going back to the 22nd century for the summer," she explained.

"Uh huh," said Dani, giving the girl a totally condescending look.

"One more thing. I'm expecting some very important documents to be delivered here today and I need you to let me know as soon as they arrive. Am I clear?" she asked. Her father was sending a check to compensate her for being forced to sell her shares in Davis Farms, and Dani was going to need that money to go house-hunting here in Fandom.

While she was pre-occupied with thoughts of the financial details, she didn't see the small green creature approach her from behind.

Hoshi did see it, though. "Gremlin! Watch out, Miss Davis," she yelled, jumping over the front desk and grabbing the first heavy object she could get her hands on, which was the guest register. She swung the book at the gremlin.

"What the hell are you doing?" asked Dani, too shocked at Hoshi's action to even look behind her. She almost missed the stab of pain as something bit her ankle.

"I'm trying to stop it!" Hoshi yelled. The guest register was heavier than she expected and her awkward swing at the gremlin missed. In response, the gremlin bit her arm before scampering off.

Things went a little fuzzy there for a moment, and then... suddenly, there were bananas. Or at least, there were two girls who thought they were Bananas in Pajamas.

"B2? What just happened?" asked B1, sitting up and adjusting her pajamas.

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking, B1?" asked B2, watching the gremlin run away.

"I think I am, B2!" said B1 excitedly. "It's time to chase the teddy bears!"

"Let's go catch them, B1!" said B2.

Hope wasn't at all looking forward to being in town, but hey. Girl did what a girl had to do.

And the first order of business was finding a damn place to stay since Benicio had been a complete dick on that order and hadn't helped out at all.

She approached the front desk with a smile.

"Did you find the teddy bears?" asked B2 hopefully.

... oh, she was going to kill Benicio.

"No, no teddy bears, I'm afraid," Hope said. "I'm just trying to find a place to stay."

"There's lots of rooms upstairs! And some of them even come in pairs!" giggled B2. It sounded funny to her.

"I'd just like one of them, though," Hope said. "I don't have any use for a pair of rooms."

"Okey-dokey!" said B2, randomly pulling out the key to room 414 out of the drawer and handing it over. "Wanna help B1 and I look for teddy bears?"

"Not right now," Hope said, kind of just wanting away from the crazy. "I'd just like to go and get settled in my room."

"Okay!" said B2. "Welcome to the island! You're really like it here."

When you can't sleep because you're too excited about an idea that hit you just before bedtime, you might as well go with it.
