Chilly Boulder - Wednesday evening

Since Penelope wasn't working this evening, she and Hurley decided to meet up for their non-date ice cream date. Thing. Totally not a date. She sat at the exact same table as last time and looked out the window, waiting for him to arrive.

Miss Daisy might not like to see her food journal but Pen could hardly refuse ice cream. This evening she thought she'd try a brownie sundae. Or perhaps chocolate chip cookie dough. No... mint chocolate chip.


[Pen is there for Hurley but Chilly Boulder is open for all your ice cream needs.]

Hurley smiled as he entered Chilly Boulder and sat down across from Penelope.

"Sorry I'm late," he said.

She smiled. "No, you're fine," she replied. "Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, just kinda... overnapped," Hurley admitted. "My bad."

"I've not paid attention to the time, honestly. I've just been thinking," she said. "But how are you?"

"I'm good," Hurley said. "Totally glad we still get to hang out tonight, even if you're not working."

"Me too," she grinned. "I haven't spoken to you about classes or anything yet. Tell me what you're taking?"

"Seven Secrets of Success, My Life as a Buddy Movie, and Civil War Reenactment," Hurley said. "But you knew that last one."

"Yes, I did," she replied, folding her hands atop the table. "Just what are the seven secrets of success?"

"Uhhh, if the teacher is any indication, being crazy and kind of a jerk," Hurley said.

"Oh? That sounds like it would be terribly frustrating. Who is he... or she?"

"His name is Rimmer," Hurley said. "Did you hear radio last night? That was him."

"No, I didn't," she admitted. "I haven't been listening to it lately. I hope it's not too awful for you, Hurley."

"Oh, it's not bad," Hurley said. "It's kinda... funny, actually? In a weird way."

"Funny weird is... interesting at least," she commented. "My other classes are pretty good actually. Healthy Diet, TeeVee, and um, Seduction."

"Whoa," Hurley said. "Really?"

That surprised him. A lot.

"It's not a class I chose for myself," she assured him quickly. "I just ended up in there. It's not bad. Not as I first feared. Today was actually quite nice." And there was a lovely white lily in her hair to prove it.

"Cool," Hurley said. "I guess it'll come in handy?"

She blushed crimson. "No.. I mean, one day possibly, but no. I cannot even flirt properly."

"Well, that's what the class is for, right?" Hurley said. "To learn."

She shrugged. "I suppose. Anyway, what kind of ice cream are you getting this time?"

"I dunno," Hurley said. "What're you getting?"

"Mint chocolate chip," she said. "I've had plenty of time to think on it and that is what I've decided."

"That sounds good," Hurley said. "I think I'll get... cookie dough ice cream. With whipped cream."

Penelope chewed her lip. "Oh. That sounds good too. I was thinking on it earlier..."

"Well, if you want, you can totally steal a spoonful," Hurley said.
