Book Haven - Friday, 5/22
Liir got to work, cleaned, neatened, and set out the tea. Then he set out the brownies. Those brownies.
...someone was feeling a little full of himself and his cooking ability.
Then he was behind the counter working on a book. Fiction for today, just for a change.

"Mmm," she mumured and plucked one up.

But brownie... nom nom nom.

"My requests for brownies, it seems. And you?"
He leaned down to press a kiss to her cheek.

Turning into him she reached up to wrap her arms around his neck. "I'm good. It's been a good week; glad it's Friday. How was your day?"
no subject
"Good. I went to the fair during my lunch break; I had to make sure not to take too long or Millie insists I just go and have fun."
He kissed her again.
"Yourself?"

"I'm glad you're having a relaxing week."

"I shouldn't take a chair from the nonexistent customers," he said, nudging her legs with a soft smile.
no subject
"Are you mine for the rest of the night?"

"You've had a good day; a busy day."
no subject
"But now I have wonderful company, which makes up for anything else."
no subject
"Nice to know," she teased, "that I make up for anything else. And wonderful to boot."

A slight pause.
"What will you do when I'm not here to make up for everything else?"
no subject
"I suppose I will soldier on. Life doesn't end just because it gets shitty."
Which was about the long and short of it, as far as he was concerned. He'd miss her, he'd visit her--
"I'll miss you, I'll visit, I'll see you when I can and I'll... actually use the phone."
no subject
Shitty was right.
"So... what do you want to do, Liir? I want to know what you want, you know? My feelings aren't the only ones to consider here."
no subject
"You're going forward. I'm staying here. I'll be here, no matter what. As long as they'll have me. So--
"Realistically. Honestly.
"What do you want, Amber?"
no subject
"You realize you've pretty much answered me, don't you?"
Looking away, she chewed on her bottom lip.
This conversation shouldn't happen here. It was so... impersonal.
no subject
"Did you, I mean--"
Wait!
"What do you mean, I answered you?"
no subject
Still not with the looking at him.
