New students, new students, new students were making Ray's poor head hurt with all the damn paperwork. "Seriously," he muttered, "I think they make some of these names up." Beat. "Hey, Rick!"

Ralph ignored him.

"You think they make some of these names up?"

Ralph continued to ignore him.

"I think they make some of these names up."

Ralph wandered off towards the water cooler.

"Yeah, whatever, buddy."

It was kind of hard not to notice Kowalski's questions, and impossible to not be amused by them.

"Like what, sir?" Daisy had to ask.

"Kaeleer," Ray said, looking up. "Sounds like someone's coughing up a, uh, hairball. A wet one."

And that sound would be Daisy trying out, saying it as one might if they were coughing up a wet hairball at the same time.

"Huh," she said. "You're right, it kind of does. And I'd guess you'd know. This is coming from someone who's last name could sound like a sneeze."

"Hey, Kowalski is a perfectly respectable Polish name," Ray shot back. "Shows what you know."

"Right, sir," Daisy nodded. "That perfectly respectable Polish names sound like sneezes."

As if she was anyone to talk, considering her name sounded like a stripper....That was not the point, though.

"You watch it," he said, lifting up a threatening finger. "I spent too much time bein' people with different names."

"Aw, come on, Kowalski," said Daisy. "I'm just teasing you a little. I know it's a little unorthodox for me, but it's Friday. I'm feeling a little crazy."

Ray grumbled something that mighta been "you try pretending to be some Italian pizza farmer with pretentions" or "you try tending the rosebushes in gradations", and took a gulp of his coffee.
