Well, it was very nearly a holiday, so that meant it was time for a sale.

Aprons telling people they should kiss the cook!

As Ben went back to work trying to make one particularly ancient grill nice and shiny again, he couldn't help but wonder why exactly anyone would donate a barbecue grill to a thrift shop anyway. But he wasn't going to complain. One of these was going to go on his balcony at the end of the day, so he decided to just appreciate it.

[OOC: Speaking of cookouts, I'm going to one in a few hours. I'll be unavailable after about 5 Eastern.]

"Morning, Ben!"

Of course Daisy was there with her usual bright greeting, taking a moment to look at the sign and then taking more moments to try and not think about how bad hot dogs were for you, not to mention a good deal of hamburger.

"Good morning, Daisy," Ben said. "Can I interest you in any cookout aprons? They work just as well in an actual kitchen."

"Oh, I've already got a nice apron," said Daisy. "It's all pink and frilly and lacy, too. I figure I hardly really need one to remind people to kiss me when I cook for them."

"Well, you're certainly a little cocky about that," Ben teased. "And right, sure, but still."

"It's not being cocky," said Daisy, "it's just stating a fact. And I thought maybe I could still buy one and give it to Loki, but he's already got an apron, too. It's pink and frilly, too. Matches mine."

No, he didn't. At least, Daisy didn't think he did, but, then again, she didn't really have one of those aprons, either.

"I don't believe you. I really want to believe you, but I just can't," Ben said, trying to picture Loki in a frilly pink apron.

"Are you calling me a liar, Ben? We've matching tattoos, why wouldn't we have matching aprons, too?"

"... You have what?" Ben asked.

"Matching tattoos," Daisy repeated, blinking a little as she tilted her head. "You didn't notice?"

She'd feel oddly flattered if he actually hadn't.

"Well, I haven't really paid much attention to any tattoos Loki might have," Ben said.

"I meant mine," said Daisy with a grin. "But perhaps you should pay more attention to his. His is better, as it's got my name on it."

"Is it in a place where I'm probably not going to see it normally?" Ben asked.

Daisy turned to the side a little, rolling up her sleeve to show Ben the little winged heart with Loki's name on it on her upper arm, right near the shoulder. "His is in about the same spot, but bigger, because his arm's bigger and his had more stuff in it. Both my name and birthday. So he'll remember it."

Yes, that was how the whole thing got started.

Cookout today. Rest tomorrow. That's the way to do these three day weekends.
