The Lighthouse, Wednesday May 27

Murdock was at the lighthouse fairly early, not too long after dawn, actually. He hadn't slept too well and finally figured he might as well get up and do something.

Now that he'd gotten the wires traced out, he needed to replace them. They might be good, but he wasn't willing to risk that hundred year old (or older, really he had no idea) wiring could withstand a power surge.

And around here, there were plenty of things liable to cause a massive electric charge. Unwelcome island guests, for instance.

So today, the inside of the tower looked like jungle city, with wires dangling from the light room at the top all the way down to the bottom as he worked at replacing the old wires one by one.

And yes, of course he'd cut the main power to the tower. He was crazy, not stupid after all.

Tully meanwhile worked on the foghorn and bell. It could be done while sitting down after all.

Tully got his crutches and hobbled out of the foghorn/bell shack. "Hey Murdock you okay?" he called out, heading for the tower.

"I've got the first aid kit in the shed just now." Tully told him. "C'mon."

It could happen to the best of us. Tully handed him the first aid kit. "I think I should be able to get either the foghorn or the bell ready to go by the end of the week."

Tully grinned mischievously. "Oh I think so."

"Maybe you should wear gloves."
