The Magic Box, Monday

Alex opened up the shop on time, armed with some tea and a list of spells. There were a couple of items needed for one or two spells on the list.

She put them aside for purchase later and moved to sort through a box of various magical items. They would be added to the displays, once they were re-organized.

The Magic Box is open!

Harper rushed right over to the Magic Box after checking the cast list at The Boards. "Alex, I got cast in the play!" she squealed. "I get to be a witch!"

"Hey, that's great Harper!" Alex grinned. "Congrats! I think this means we need to celebrate." When she was off work, of course.

"Yes, we do," said Harper, still grinning. "I am so excited! And Eric is in the play, too. Have you met Eric van der Woodsen? He was in my cabin and he is soooooo cute!"

"Oh, really? I have, yeah. We were roommates on the cruise," Alex explained. It'd been a while since she'd talked to Eric.

That wiped the smile off of Harper's face. "Really? Well, I'm calling dibs on Eric, so I wouldn't get too attached to him if I were you," she said.

"I'm not, don't worry," Alex replied, offering Harper a smile. "He's all yours."

"Good," said Harper, grinning once more. "I am just so happy about getting cast for the play! You'll have to come see it once the play opens."

"I'll definitely be there," Alex nodded. Like she wouldn't be there to support her best friend? "I might even bring a foam finger." That she'd "borrowed" from Justin.

"But in the meantime, I have so much to do to get ready, because I promised Geoffrey that I'd still do costumes even if I got cast," said Harper. "And I have to learn my lines too... I wonder how else I can prepare to play a witch?"

It was a shame that she didn't get the irony of it.

"You're making the costumes too? Wow, look at you go," Alex was clearly impressed. Then again this was Harper and she'd be surprised to see her not juggle more than one thing at a time. "Maybe do some research? And ask around? I'm sure there's at least one witch to be found here. There are wizards, so why not witches?"

Oh, if only.

"Oooh, of course! I've already met a couple of wizards. I can ask them if they know any witches," said Harper. "Or maybe Geoffrey has some ideas, too. After all, he's the director. I bet he knows more about Shakespeare than anyone else on the island."

"They might," Alex shrugged. "And even if they don't, they still might have some good advice for you," she added. "Hey, yeah. You never know what Geoffrey might have in mind."

Too bad she couldn't take Harper right to the source himself. That would probably be the best advice she'd get.

"I'll talk to Ronan when I get a chance, then. He's the first wizard that I got to meet in Fandom and the one who showed me magic," said Harper.
