Magic Reserve - The Preserve, Wednesday Afternoon

"Hey, everyone," Tony said, once people had gathered. "We're going to talk about shielding today. Or defenses, in general, since everyone's magic is a little different. First, Karla's going to talk a bit about shields. Karla?"

Tony stepped aside and let Karla tag in speak and answer any questions.

Once she was done, Tony addressed the group again. "Who else feels comfortable enough with defensive magic to help others? Raise your hand, please?" Wow, he felt like a teacher or something. Way weird. Assuming there were hands up, he continued. "Okay, everyone else? These are the guys you go to for help."

"One last thing for today - let's talk strategy. Karla suggested that we find a few places on the island that are easy to defend and practice shielding those spots. Where do you guys think those places are? And what else can we do to make those spots ready for an invasion - like, maybe have food and first aid stuff staged there?"

"Yeah? You're sure?" Dinah checked, then relaxed a little, still smiling. "Okay then. Not exactly good strategy to tell the world there, anyway." A thoughtful pause. "And if you did, I wouldn't kiss him to turn him back." Not after last weekend and yesterday's chat, she wouldn't. "So yeah. Not a good plan."

"Good to know," Tony said, suddenly spotting a flaw in the whole toad-prince plan. Not that there was an actual plan. "And good for you."

She grinned at him again, and held out her arms to spin around in a circle. "Is it just me, or is today just really beautiful?"

"It's not bad," Tony grinned, looking over at Ronan.

Dinah gave Ronan a cheerfully appreciative look too, then lowered her voice to say, "No free show wanted, but go for it anyway."

"Not permission! Encouragement! I could get pom-poms and cheer you on but that would lack for subtle," Dinah said, doing another twirl. Warm nice day, cute boys everywhere, and the impulse to hug was upon her.

"Not to mention kind of disturbing," Tony smiled. "I don't need a cheerleader for my sex life, thanks. I do just fine."

"Woooo. At least one of us is," Dinah said, without any sign of discouragement. Yay vicarious happiness! And vicarious... okay, no need to think of Ronan and Tony backstage at the Boards there, 'cause while that was hot, it was also unsettling. "Hmmm. Maybe I'll go swimming later. Or running. Something."
