Around town (and in the dorms), Wednesday morning

Early enough in the morning that normal people would glare and throw a pillow at Francine if she wasn't polite enough to be quiet about getting up and out of the dorms, posters began appearing, first in the dorm building, then around town.




One might or might not run into a rather smiley, chipper girl putting them up and humming June is Bustin' Out All Over in between deep breaths of the flower-scented air.

[OOC: Establishy but open for reactions. Or if you'd like to run into Francine putting them up, sure. Just make it clear in narrative or an ooc note, if so!]

"I see the work is getting along," Arthur said, conversationally, as he caught her putting up one ridiculously girly poster.

"Hi, Arthur!" They really were, weren't they? Francine was so proud of them. She spun around to make her skirt twirl because she was a girl and dammit if you're wearing one of those skirts, you have to face him. "Uh-huh. I've already had a couple people say they'd be interested in helping."

"It's very..."

Arthur trailed off, eying the poster.

He supposed girly wouldn't be the tactful word.

Shilo had ventured out of the Gallery to grab lunch, and spotted Francine on her way to the cafe.

"Hi Francine," she said, coming over to investigate the posters. "Free cookies? Count me in."

"Inclusive?" she suggested, pointing to the last line. "I figure we're not turning away anybody who wants to help, and some people are good at more than one thing."

"Hi, Shilo!" Francine waved cheerfully. "Yup, free cookies. Something tells me I'll be doing a lot of cooking Thursday night."

His brow furrowed at the last line. "Inclusive is one way of saying it," he said.

Tactfully. Oh so tactfully.

"Would you like a hand?" Shilo offered. "I mean, I've never really baked before, but I'd help however I could."

"Thanks!" Obliviously. Oh so obliviously.

"I heard you say you got everybody's cell-phone numbers on last night's radio. That's great. Good idea." Yes, it had been hers. Yes, she knew it had been hers. "I should get those from you, if you've got a few minutes."

"I'm okay for the cooking," Francine answered. "But you could take some posters, if you want to help put them up? Or even just one for the gallery."

"All right," Shilo said, "I'll hang up one in the gallery, and take a few more to put up wherever I don't already see one."

"Thanks!" Francine straightened the one she'd just taped up. "Aside from the free cookies, it's for figuring out what the rest of us can do to help out, if we're not out there fighting or flying or casting spells when weird stuff happens around here."

"Or turning into cats," Shilo added, absentmindedly.

"It seemed like one." His idea. So his idea. "Of course." Arthur pulled out his Blackberry.

Note how this time, he didn't actually brandish it like it was a weapon. Good boy was learning.

"You turned into a cat?" Yes, Francine. You read it out loud on the radio. You just didn't interpret it that way.

Francine eyed it as she reached for hers. "Wow, yours is a lot bigger than mine."

"Of course it is," Arthur said, completely oblivious to any innuendo. It was still a bit warm in here, though, but he had that entire matter handled. "So. You'd need all the-- numbers-- in my phone?"

He was poking around. Doing better at getting to the actual list, now.

"Yup," Shilo said, having decided that it was better to come to terms with it than complain. "A Sphinx, to be exact. Momoko thought I was our new pet."

Yes, it was starting to be funny. Hooray for hindsight.

Francine nodded, thumbing to her contacts list with relative ease. The phone was new to her, but she was actually pretty good at following directions. It was implications she had trouble with.

"Well, the ones from the Reserve. I don't need your Little Black Book." He was a boy. All boys had Little Black Books. Fine, all boys except Merlin.

"A Sphinx. Those are the hairless ones, right?" Like Chad's cat.

Little Black Book? What?

"Little Black Book?" Arthur asked, "What?"

He didn't strictly have brain-filter issues, he just couldn't always be bothered.

Oh, right. All boys who'd ever actually used a phone before had a Little Black Book. "I was kidding. It's an address book that guys use to keep the numbers of gi--" Uh. "People they--" Hook up with, and wow did she not need the unexpected rush of images there, physically attractive as they might be. "Date. Or might date."

"I don't date," he said, enunciating clearly, "So that's obviously not a concern. Are you getting what you're looking for?"

"Exactly," Shilo said. "I was one of those for the whole weekend. Didn't change back until Monday morning, so I was late for drama."

Francine had both phones in her hands, a marvel of just-about-to-drop-something-but-not-yet probabilities. She nodded, trying to punch buttons on her own, one-handed, while holding Arthur's at peering-distance with the other.

"Plus it's not like you need Leto's number anyway," she said without looking up, and as casually as she could manage given she was her and look it didn't come accompanied with another everybody but me, really? so he should count himself lucky.
