Trooper Station, Wednesday

As Tony had yet to see anything strange--reading the few police reports did not count. It could be a very elaborate prank. He could respect that--he was at his new desk.

Since the other one was commandeered by Gibbs.

Which was why he was on the phone, really.

"--No, Abby I'm serious he was here and--" Tony glanced around just in case Gibbs decided to make a reappearance at the least opportune moment as he always did. He turned back to whisper, "I think he's had a relapse."

"...he grew the mustache back?"

"No, thank god. Just, if he's back there today, have Ducky look at him."

"I will! You can count on me, Tony. And don't you worry, we'll get you and Ziva and McGee back faster than you can say mass spectrometer!"

That got Tony to smile at least. Even if Gibbs was acting insane again.

"I'll keep a CafPOW waiting for you," Tony promised solemnly.

"Who's having a relapse?" Gibbs asked as he breezed by Tony's desk.

Gibbs put down his cup of coffee and slapped down the packet of papers he was carrying with him. "What the hell are you still doing here, DiNozzo?"

[identity profile] famous-gut.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Gibbs stopped and gave DiNozzo a long hard look.

"Say that again?"

"I know what year it is, DiNozzo!" Gibbs said angrily as he began to dial the phone furiously.

[identity profile] famous-gut.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Gibbs just glared at DiNozzo as the phone rang over the speaker.

"NCIS," came a female voice. "Director-"

"I need to speak to the director," Gibbs demanded. "Now."

"Agent- Mr. Gibbs, the director is in a meeting with-"

"Now, Cynthia!" Gibbs barked.

"One moment please," came the tired reply.

Daisy knew Coop didn't mind if she took all of Wednesday off due to her teaching business, but she just couldn't ever bring herself to do it. So, considering how her morning had gone, hopes that cold shower and getting into uniform would sober her up a bit before going into work.

It...wasn't helping. Grin and bear it and pretend that the new guy wasn't cute at all. She was a strong woman; she could be good, even if her thoughts were going't to.

"Afternoon, Agent DiNozzo."

Daisy had to pause a moment, stopping the first thing that came to mind about mouthfuls from coming out, as it was very distinctly not work appropriate. The small laugh might have given her away, regardless, and she shook her head. "Just be glad," she offered, "my last name's so short?"

[identity profile] justice-beat.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not at all," said Daisy, laughing a little as she found it impossible not to grin back. "I mean, other than the fact that it's really not all that bad. Long, sure, but it rolls right off the tongue..."

Don't think about tongues, Daisy. Or things being long. Work. Station. Uniform.

"Fair enough, Special Agent DiNozzo," said Daisy, with a grin that seemed rather contrary to the reminder she gave herself that the more formal, the better. The more formal, the more she'll keep herself good and grounded on the job. Should there be justice that needed serving, she figured Coop would appreciate it if her mind was not focused on other things.

"It is good to see you haven't gone running yet."

...Very goo--

Shut up, Daisy. No Daisy here. Just Detective. Contastable Day.

Sometime after Tony's run-in with Gibbs and lunch with Daisy, Dale stopped by to see how his new employee was doing.

"Special Agent DiNozzo?" Dale asked offering his hand. "Sheriff Cooper. Welcome aboard, son."

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah," Dale said with a chuckle. "I take it you've already experienced your first strange encounter with our little island?"

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Gremlins?" Dale guessed.

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Keep reading the reports," Dale said with a sympathetic smile. "In particular the ones after the Zombie invasion."
