Ben walked into work today with no regrets about the previous week. He wasn't sure that the same could be said for everyone else on the island, which is why he put a new display up.

That would help anyone who couldn't look someone in the eye anymore after their actions last week. Some of them would even make a walk of shame look a little better.

So what if Daisy had only just seen Ben (and a lot of him) mere hours ago? It was Sunday, and tradition was tradition. All it meant was that, this time, she had an excuse for bringing (http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/pepper_goatchz_frittata.html) Ben breakfast (http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/lemon_raspberry_muffins.html), with orange juice and everything in a little flask. No vodka, she promised. She would have thrown it all together right there in Ben's kitchen, too, but decided her kitchen wasn't too far away and also she didn't run the risk of not knowing what might be in her own pantry, while Ben's could always be a toss-up.

"Morning, Ben! Brought you something."

"Good morning, stranger. I haven't seen you in forever," Ben said. He was absolutely enough of a dork to make that kind of joke EVERY TIME they saw each other the morning after. Sad, really. "You didn't make that at my place, did you? It might be filled with doom."

And yet it never got old. Which made it equally sad on Daisy's part, but perhaps their dorkiness about it canceled each other out and made it awesome.

"Oh, bless, no," chuckled Daisy, setting the breakfast on the counter for him. "I mean, don't get me wrong, I love a good brawl in the morning with a random monster in the pantry just as much as any other girl, but I was feeling a bit too worn out for all that."

Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

"I wonder why. That's a good thing anyway. I can't afford too many more windows," Ben said. "Thanks for bringing all of this. It looks delicious."

"Hopefully it tastes as well, too," said Daisy, "and you're welcome. Person needs a good breakfast after a night of hard work."

"Is it right to call it work when we were having that much fun?" Ben asked as he took the frittata.

"I had a feeling you'd say something like that," said Daisy, taking a sip of orange juice from the flask, "and I figure, since it would definitely be right to call it a work-out, it's got work as a basic factor, but just the best kind."

"I'm not going to argue with that logic," Ben said after finishing off a bite of the frittata. "Especially since you won me over with a good breakfast."

"And here I thought you'd see right through that clever ploy, too."

"That's just your police instinct at work, I bet," Ben theorized. "You're good, Day. Very good."

"Ta," said Daisy, a touch of reluctance in her smile. "BUt I could be better."

Not that she was about to recount her latest flaws in this theory if she could help it, but talking to Ben right now did seem to make them, if not worse, a bit shameful.

"Well, sure, nobody's perfect," Ben said. "But you're close enough to it as far as I'm concerned."

And how could she respond to that with anything but leaning over the counter a little to give him a kiss on the cheek?

"You're sweet, Ben," she said, "but I still hope to get a lot closer still."

"I have faith that you will," Ben said.

"Ta," said Daisy, smiling at Ben a little before giving a slight sigh and leaning on the counter, looking a little tired as she stretched out little. "I'm hoping to have a nice quiet week this week; how 'bout you?"

"I don't know. Last week was a little too quiet for me," Ben said. "I would be happy with a little more excitement."

"It's been...off for me," Daisy admitted, tentatively because she really didn't want to go into too much detail there. Still, she could easily smile a bit and point out, "I think things got set on the right track, though."

"I'm glad to hear that. I'm sorry I didn't know that anything was off, though. You know I would have tried to help," Ben said.

"See, but you did help," Daisy pointed out with a little laugh, "you just didn't know it."

"Really?" Ben asked. "Could you fill me in on how I did this?"
