The York Gallery; Sunday [ 06/07 ].

If Charlotte noticed another amiss or different about the past handful of days, it was merely that sex seemed to have taken over the most prominent section of her brain, instead of the wedding as usual. But even that didn't seem odd. Conversations with her friends back home had always just been about sex and she was affianced to a very handsome man with a perfectly healthy sex drive, thank you (thank GOD).

But now that it was Sunday, her mind seemed to be training right back onto the wedding again, front and center, which was why she was doing more bridal registry stuff at the gallery today than art related stuff.

The York Gallery is open!

Where there's a Charlotte!

Irulan was becoming quite the wanderer. The York Gallery, it seemed to be a recent establishment since Irulan had no recollection of running into the gallery in her youth.

"Hello," Charlotte was always quick to greet a visitor with a warm smile, even if it was hard to pull away from looking at another batch of potential shoes to go with her wedding dress, "welcome to the gallery; can I help you?"

"Hello," Irulan said and returned the smile, "I was just passing through, may I ask what sort of art you feature here?"

"All sorts, really," Charlotte offered, her smile continuing. "Right now, we're currently working with a gallery in Pittsburgh, with some pieces from British artists. By all means, go on ahead and have a look around if you're interested."

Some of the words went by Irulan but determined it would be far better serve her to see the art first. "Thank you I shall look around."

Charlotte nodded, just generally pleased to have a visitor today. "You're welcome. If you've got any questions about anything, don't hesitate to ask. It's what I'm here for."

"I shall thank you," Irulan said and because it was proper added, "and I apologize for not introducing myself earlier, I am the Princess Irulan Corrino-Atreides."

Oh! A princess! Charlotte couldn't help being instantly impressed and a little flushed in the face of royalty.

"Oh, well, it's very nice to meet you, your Highness! I'm Charlotte York; I own this gallery."

"I am pleased to meet you as well, Charlotte York," Irulan replied with a smile. "I think I shall come to like your gallery, Charlotte York."

Really, Irulan, its fine to just use the first names.

"Oh, just Charlotte's fine!" She tried not to laugh, really she did. A bit of a chuckle might have slipped, though. "Really! And that'd be wonderful. It gets so quiet around here."

"If you wish," Irulan said and tried it out, "Charlotte. It must be wonderful to be surrounded by so much beauty." And after looking around, added, "I may purchase some art pieces later this week. I am moving to Fandom and I find that the my new place of residence a little bare."

Music to Charlotte's ears, especially since it had been a while since she'd had any sales around. "Well, welcome to the Island, then!" she chimed in brightly. "I'd love to help you find something to decorate with and I assure you, you'll find our prices very reasonable."

"Thank you," said Irulan sensing a kindred spirit in Charlotte. "And I assure you, price is no object."

Be still her heart.

"In that case," Charlotte chuckled a little, "here's to hoping we can at least get you the best for your money, then, your Highness."

She wasn't sure if that's what she should call her, but she said she was a princess, and she'd rather err on the side of caution if she really was royalty.

"Please, just call me Irulan," she told Charlotte, "I am far from home and while I do like ceremony I feel its..." Irulan searched for the word, "overkill. In this planet I am merely a visitor."

"Irulan it is, then," Charlotte said with a nod, a little grateful, because she felt so much less compulsion to squee if she was just calling the other woman by her name.

Irulan had intuited this to be the case but did not let on and smiled.

A thought occured to Irualan.

"I shall be moving to my new place of residence on Wednesday, perhaps if it would help if you could visit my house?" She said and confessed, "A designer has always purchased art pieces for me. I know little about art since I feel I am more suited towards state craft and the literary."

It was pretty obvious, too, that this made Charlotte go squee just as much, if not more, than the princess thing had. Of course, she tried to maintain it, but that rarely actually worked.

Because eeeee Interior Design!

"Oh, I'd love to! I actually designed my entire apartment upstairs! I'd love to have a look."

Irulan was very amused at Charlotte's enthusiasm. She's never met anyone who was enthusiastic about aesthetics.

"Then it is settled," Irulan said, satisfied, "Let us meet on Wednesday, Charlotte."

"Wednesday it is!" Charlotte said brightly. "I look forward to it, Irulan. I'll bring lots of ideas!"

"I shall see you then!" Irulan said brighter than usual, Charlotte's enthusiasm was infectious. "I shall forward you the address." She bowed her head gracefully, "Thank you."

"Oh, you're welcome! And thank you for coming in today!"

The art was interesting although some where confusing and disturbing. Irulan did like one piece. Irulan leaned forward to read the title: Drifter by Linda Kim.

Where that's something clever and/or about this being up late!
