With whatever the fuck that was last week gone, Loki, unfortunately, had to find something else to do with his time. Of course, the easiest thing to do was to bypass the desk (it was starting to gather dust) and head to the pool. Usually, he'd just sit next to it and catch some sun (that never gave him a tan) but, today, he was actually in the pool, enjoying the cool water.

While he swam, he thought about adding some bells and whistles to the pool. A slide, a diving board, something else to make it more fun. For him. Look, he was fucking immature sometimes and he liked to have fucking fun sometimes. As it was, swimming laps wasn't bad but he could so go for a slide.

He was immature. Shut up.

He's swimming in the pool! Catch his attention!

Oh, look, a ~~shamelessly modded~~ conveniently placed beach ball right at Daisy's feet, perfect for throwing at the heads of certain persons in the pool.

Except that the thing with beach balls was that they were always lighter than you remembered and caught in the wind, so that it never actually wound up anywhere near where you'd intended to throw it. Whoops.

"That was fucking weak," he said, having seen that attempt and waiting until he'd gotten to the edge of the pool before saying anything. "You throw like a girl."

"I am a girl," Daisy pointed out. "I figured you'd have noticed."

"You throw like a prissy girl," Loki corrected. "Like a little little princess."

Daisy's jaw dropped for a moment. "It was the wind," she said. "If I had something heavier to throw, I could hit you no problem."

"Talk, talk, talk," he said and splashed some water towards her. "Why would you wanna hit me anyway?"

"To get your attention," said Daisy with a shrug, "and because it'd be amusing, but I got your attention and I'm amused anyway, so not hitting you worked too."

"Calling my name would have been so much easier," he said, splashing again. "You gonna come in?"

"But not as much fun," Daisy pointed out. "And I'd love to, but some of us have jobs that require us to stay dry and not just swim around in a pool all day. Besides, last time I went in that pool, I got an awfully bad cold from it."

"I warmed you up!" Loki reminded her. "I was there!"

"You were," Daisy agreed with a grin, "and you did. That part of it wasn't so bad."

"And you could always get in now, swim and then go change again and be ready for work before you even know it," he tried.

"It is so tempting," Daisy admitted with a laugh, "but I can't. I've got to be extra good this week."

"And why's that?" Loki asked. "You deck your boss?"

"No," said Daisy. "Do I need a reason? You know I always strive to do my best in my job, Loki."

"Because you said extra good," he said, pushing away from the wall and floating on the water. "Like you've gotta make up for something you did."

Damn it, she always did say something that slipped out. "Why would I have to do that?" she asked, trying to sound innocent.

"I don't know," he said, chuckling, "but that's why I'm asking you. You're the one who said it."

Daisy sighed a little, and then looked around slightly as if making sure they were alone first. Granted, there were always squirrels, but maybe she'd pick up a little rum for them on the way home.

Daisy pulled up a lounge chair closer to the pool and had a seat. She'd have just sat on the edge, but she didn't want to get her bum wet.

"You can't make fun of me," she started. "You'll probably think I'm being silly, but it's a really big deal for me. I've a lot of penance to make up after last week."

"Come on, I'm better than that," he said, swimming over. "I won't make fun of you. If I think you're silly, well, I'll keep it the fuck to myself."

Daisy gave Loki a look with a slightly arched eyebrow, teasingly expressing her doubt in that before the said anything. "Remember how I told you about the new guy at work?"

She suddenly got the feeling she should actually be doing this with Deadpool over margaritas while she did his toenails...

"The cute one, yeah," he said and nodded. "I remember."
