One would think that having a projecting in helping Irulan decorate her new place would give Charlotte plenty of things to get her mind off the wedding, but noooooo, of course it didn't! She had made some progress in some designs and tracking down a few things she was looking for, but the all powerful call of the Internet had her occasionally locking down at her computer, searching in on a few sights in Connecticut, close to where she grew up, for location.

This wedding was sneaking up on her way too fast!

And yet, oddly enough, at the same time? Not nearly fast enough.

Sigh.

Where there is a Charlotte!

Shilo came in, looking guilty. "Charlotte? I need to ask a favor about this Wednesday," she said, after carefully examining the top of her shoes for a few seconds.

"Hm?" Charlotte glanced away from her computer, needing a few minutes to get out of Wedding Venue Land and back into Reality. That's when she noticed Shilo and her downcast look. "Wednesday?" she asked. "Do you need me to cover for something?"

"I just need to leave early," Shilo said. "I'm, um. Going back home. Family stuff. I'm sure you know how that is."

No, she wasn't really sure, but she wanted the trip to sound as normal as it possibly could.

"Oh, of course!" Charlotte said agreeably, her head bobbing a little in a nod. "Family always comes first, Shilo, I understand. Take the whole day off if you need to, I won't mind."

"Oh, no, no. I'd just need to leave around 1 or 2, to get my things and head to the causeway, so I'd get there on time. I can still work in the morning." Shilo forced herself to smile, to look casual. "Thank you for offering, though."

"Oh, no problem," Charlotte said. "Thank you for still coming in. I hope your trip home goes well."

"I hope so too," Shilo replied. "I'll see you Wednesday. Or when I get back. Whatever comes first." She waved, and headed for the door, letting Charlotte resume whatever work she was doing on her computer.

"Have a good day, Shilo!" Charlotte said, waving back as the girl headed out.
