Really, someone could only brood for so long before well-trained and practiced denial took over and that was why, a whole week over a fight that had been more annoying than anything, Ino was back in the store with the music turned to some bibby-pop-ish station and Ino was totally totally fine and in a good mood.

And, okay, singing along to the radio. Shut up. She didn't mind when her audience was green.

(And pink, purple, orange, blue, yellow and so on and so forth.)

Plants were the best audience ever.

Romeo had a message to deliver; he'd spent some time online the night before, getting it right.

It was forgotten for the moment as he watched Ino sing. She got a round of applause as he approached the counter.

"That's totally cheating," she complained, turning around, "sneaking up on--"

Somewhere, Asuma-sensei was muttering about situational awareness.

"You seemed to be involved in what you were doing," Romeo said, weirdly shy. "And I have an order for you, anyhow."

Strictly business, of course.

"The flowers like it when people talk to them," she said, totally going to stick to that story, as she grabbed a pen and a notepad. Yes, it had all been for the flowers. "What's the order? For Dojima-san?"

"No..." Romeo said vaguely as he pulled out a notepad of his own. "I want purple hyacinth, daffodil, and ivy."

If he had it right, that meant "I'm sorry, I respect you, can we still be friends?" or something like it.

Ino was half way through writing down the first word--she was slower in English than she was in Japanese, but orders had to be in the language everyone around here knew--when she paused.

". . .you don't really need a bouquet, do you?"

"I would pay for it if you want one," Romeo said slowly. "I talked to Reno. He explained what you were trying to say so I could understand. I don't want to spend my last weeks here fighting with people."

"I don't need one," she said firmly. Ino wasn't that fond of cut flowers, after all.

Ino shrugged a bit.

"I," she tugged at her hair, "never really wanted to fight, this time anyway, with you."

Romeo noticed the parenthetical about this time, and it made him quirk his lips slightly. "I asked a question that was bigger for you than it was for me and I think we were talking past each other," he offered. "I have no idea how killing babies came into it. Can we call it forgotten?"

"Forget what?" Ino asked, blinking big blue eyes innocently at him.

(That was a yes, definitely. This way was just more fun for her.)

Glinda strolled into the store, noticed Ino, and immediately walked over. "Good morning," she said, hoping that she wasn't interrupting anything.

"Morning!" she said brightly. "Welcome to Covent Garden Flowers!"

"Thank you," Glinda replied. "I'm interested in having flowers delivered. How do I do that so I have an IC reason for the order I've already put in?"

"It's super easy," Ino assured her, smiling. "Now, if you already know what you want, you've just got to fill in this form." She held up a pad of paper printed with the form. "And give it to whoever is your employee-of-the-day. If you don't know, of course, we're more than happy to help you decide what you'd like!"

"I'd like something resembling this," Glinda replied, handing Ino a picture (http://www.inbloomfloral.com/Portfolio/One%20Dozen%20Vased%20Pink-Edged%20Roses%20with%20Baby%27s%20Breath.jpg). She filled out the form rather quickly for a few moments, and then frowned. "Oh dear. I don't know the address..." She looked up. "You wouldn't happen to know where the Skywalkers live, would you?"

"They live off-island," she said, smiling as she looked at the picture. "But totally we can send it to them. I don't know it off the top of my head though."

A beat.

"And, for the flowers, we can easily do something like this, so don't worry 'bout that at all. Is it for a special occasion?"

Glinda nodded, looking excited. "Excellent, excellent. Yes, their daughter arrived. I thought I would send flowers along, since Mr. Skywalker was so kind as to send baby pictures out for the staff."

"Oh, she is. Hopefully he and his wife will bring her to visit the school soon, so you students can see her as well." She smiled. "And thank you, although I'm sure that they'll be buried under them in a matter of days."
