Il Pollo; Noonish, Wednesday [ 06/17 ].
Even with a few thing to do in her office at the school and a swing around back to the apartment to throw on her uniform and feed the new tree in her living room (the magnolias really set off the white furniture nicely), Daisy managed to get to the restaurant for her lunch with DiNozzo early. So she got a table for them, got herself some more coffee, and contemplated just how annoying it might be if she started to pester the server about things like whole wheat pasta and organic sauces.
Maybe if she just got a salad...
[[ Daisy's obviously meeting up with the newest partner-in-crimefighting, but open for all your Italian restaurant luncheon needs! ]]

"Barring little horsies that assault officers?" she asked. "Yes. A few. Very sporadically, but it seems that when they hit, they're pretty significant. I'd check out the files on the Walker case and the Durden kidnapping; those have been the only ones since I've been here."

And a great big cocktease to make her think, just as she'd arrive, that she'd actually be doing real work around here.

Harbouring a bit of resentment? What? Pull the other one.

If that was the case, then she'd been on the right track her entire career.
"Oh, bugger," she said, unable to help it. Now she felt just an awful knotting in her stomach for having left it. "You really think...?"

"Well," she said, trying to hold down a smile as best she could, "how about you have a look at the fire, from a new perspective, and see if you see anything worthwhile, and then you let me know and we see what we can do?"

Really, he needed to stop.
No. No, Daisy decided that he never could.
"You can get lunches on me ever first Wednesday of the month if that's the case, Special Agent."

...he wasn't allowed to make decisions like this when out with an attractive woman.

"I still don't know," she said, unable to avoid admitting at least a little bit of a reservation, "but it'll be interesting to see what you boys can come up with."

wetexcited over justice and he'd already slept with her, and that just about covered it."Well," she said, "I grew up in and out of London; my parents were lecturers, and I kind of always wanted to be a cop. What about you, Special Agent DiNozzo?"

He may have been waiting to see what sort of reaction to those things he'd get.
