The Boards - Thursday, 6/18 - REHEARSAL!

Geoffrey had made an early morning run to the Quick Stop for a few things. As soon as the actors got to the theatre, they were presented with the fruits of his excursion.

Mops.

"Water and sewage mains," he said succinctly. His eyes wandered over the faces of his actors, waiting for one of them to try and pin it on the Cuuuuuurse. Then he moved on.

"Which doesn't mean we're not rehearsing. Other than the blocking, we'll be running today like we do every week."

He tipped his head to the door out.

"Except there's just going to be coffee and tea and it's set up outside for health reasons. But! We still have work to do, in more than one sense, so let's get going!"

And in he went, clomping along. We did mention Geoffrey only has one pair of shoes?

Gabrielle looked a bit forlorn at the lack of baked goods, but she'd be standing there just sniffing the air near the coffee carafes for a while. It smelled fantastic.

. . . and miraculously didn't exist in her world yet.

"Do you like yours with sugar or cream?" Dinah asked, dumping two creamers and a ton of sugar into hers. Instant mocha, mmmmmm.

"Exactly what I was thinking," Dinah said, toasting him with her cup. "'Cause I'm not in this act, so I *could* leave, but..." She made a dramatic heart-clutching gesture. "I would be abandoning all of you!"

Ender actually wasn't much for the coffee, so he took a mug of tea and sat down. The smell didn't seem to bother him that much.

Hinata preferred tea, really, but she was more than willing to hang around the tables for the moment and avoid--well, the obvious.

Tea. Nice, hot, comforting tea. Jack had smelled worst things, but that didn't make rehearsing in an outhouse pleasant.

This was remarkably unpleasant. She was glad she'd changed. She took a cup of coffee and perched on air, keeping her feet--and everything else--away from the muck.

She'd make air benches for others if they asked.

If a key scene for Jack's character hadn't been part of today's rehearsals, he would have stayed outside by the tea and protected his shoes.

That wasn't an option, and he'd promised Valentine he would say hello to Ender anyhow. His script was open but unneeded in his hand as he waited for his Macgruder.

Dinah took the risk, and yelled, "I'm in here!" to anyone who was around.

Then sang Intuition while she washed up, just in case anyone came along who hadn't heard that.
