Cabot and Associates, Wednesday
Alex had enough information to e-mail a status update to Liz. And then, Liz could pass the information to her other ADAs, who could go into court and argue the motions, but not as well as Alex would have, and the motions would be denied and all of this would be wasted effort.
Okay, some of Liz's ADAs were probably competent, but none of them had her closure rate, dammit. She should be in New York herself. She could get a dark wig and change her name. Olivia could be her personal bodyguard, once the Colombians figured out who she was. Olivia wouldn't mind.
Don't mind Alex -- she's just In A Mood.

Then it was just a mere walk to the law office where she popped her head in.
"Up for a coffee break?" she asked as Martha trotted in.

Unfortunately.

She took the cup of coffee and helped herself to a gulp, not minding that it scalded her tongue. "How's life on the civilian side?"

She took another swig of her coffee. "In which case, I have to say, I'm not so great at vacations."

She was playing idly with the lid on her cup. "Resorts really have cabana boys? I always assumed that was just a stereotype."

She rubbed her head. "You don't know how much that just hurt me to say that."

Martha poked her nose into the drawer, which earned a laugh from Alex. "I don't think I should share with you," she said, holding out a hand for Martha to sniff.

Martha of course was now sitting and attempting to lick Alex's hands.
"So. If you were theoretically going to tell the FBI to kiss your ass, where would said ass be heading off to?"

She glanced up at Lindsay again. "Somewhere warm," she decided. "Really warm, like tropical sun and white beaches warm. My family has a villa in Cabo San Lucas, but it's not like I can call them up and get the keys."

St. Barts was a little pricey, sure, but Alex had loads of cash. The Cabots were not exactly hurting on that front.

"Sure. You don't mind if I bring a-"
Boyfriend? Hmm.
"Guy-friend along?"
Yeah, Linz. Like that sounds better.

Or her, either, to be perfectly honest about it.
