The Arms Hotel Lobby, Friday [6/26]
With the dance coming up tomorrow, Mary was in a very good mood. Sure, she didn't have a date yet, but she figured there was still enough time to take care of that. Hey, in a worst case scenario, she could always ask Gunther to go with her right?
No, that was a terrible idea. Mary was going to push that thought from her mind and find someone else.
Welcome to the Arms Hotel!
Today's Special
Butternut Squash Risotto
[No OCD, and I should be around if anyone needs to check in.]

"I'm in need of a room!"
It was a bold, happy kind of announcement. Faaandom. It was like being home again. Only sans the dorms.

A pause for consideration.
"Somethin' with a well-stocked minibar, maybe!"

Seriously. Drinking laws. Who thought that up?

He'd try not to spill or something, anyhow.

"Check out time is noon, though I can push that back if you need more time," she said. "Have a good stay while you're here!"

"What do you mean, you're leaving me here alone?"
"Well, whad'ya expect, mom, I was gonna move in here with you? I gotta get home. Psyche's waiting."
"You could wait until I'm settled."
He folded his arms and raised an eyebrow at her. "You're thousands of years old, mom. You'll never be settled."
Smacking him on the arm, she looked around, hoping she hadn't drawn any attention. "You know what I mean!"
"Look, what's the big deal? It's a hotel. You check in. I know you've done that. You stayed in the best hotel in Paris, for Zeus's sake."
"Do not take your grandfather's name in vain."
"Yeah, yeah. I'm going. Check in. Get a room. Stay low, and do NOT get into trouble. You hear me?"
She stuck her tongue out at him, then nodded. "Fine. But you better come visit."
"Right. As soon as I throw Unc off the track."
"How're you gonna do that?"
He smiled. "I'm Cupid, aren't I?" With a snap of his fingers, he disappeared, the golden outline slowing falling around him.
Looking around, 'Dite made sure no one saw, then peered around a corner. Spotting the front desk, she squared her shoulders. "Right. I'm the goddess of love, I can do this." Then she frowned. "No, I'm Jackie Blue. What a dumb name!" Heaving a sigh, she picked up the bag Cupid had made her carry. "Well. Let's see how the mortal half lives."
Tugging on her pink suit jacket and putting a smile on her face, she headed for the front desk.
ETA:(First part is NFB, Dite is here in cognito!)

"Do you have room service? And a pool?" She tilted her head. "And mini bars in the rooms? I am SO ready for a drink."

Aphrodite smiled. "Would there be cute guys there?" Then she shook herself. "I mean, that's great. Yeah. Do you have any suites? And I'll absolutely want the bar unlocked. Seriously."
no subject
She stopped, realizing that she was babbling. "Uh, yes, I do have suites available. In fact, our presidential suite isn't book this weekend. Do you know how long you'll be staying?"
no subject
Then her expression turned sly. "Cute guys everywhere, huh? Yowza." She could do without the fighting, but the rest of it sounded fun. She tilted her head. Couldn't hurt to start advertising. "You know, you should come by my new shoppe. 'Dite's Decadent Delights'. Catchy name, huh?"
no subject
Slipping into her professional demeanor, she added, "I can put in a regular suite and give you the special monthly rate, which is better than the daily rate. And I'll definitely have to check out your shop. I like to support local businesses."
no subject
"Seems to me I've already met a cute girl." And she winked.
Aphrodite didn't really have a professional demeanor.

"Room 712," she said, handing over a key. "It's a nice suite with an ocean view. I think you'll like it. And if there's anything I can help you with, let me know. I actually live in an apartment at the end of the hall."
no subject
"Will you be by later? To open the mini-bar? Or will you send some big hunky guy to help me out?"
no subject
Gunther would probably die if he heard Mary describe him as a hunk.

Besides, Cupid had warned her not to get in trouble, and anything more than flirting wouldn't be 'laying low.' So, with a bright smile, she picked up the bar key. "Actually, I tend to travel light, so I don't think I'll need help with the bags. But it's good to know there's a hunk around when you need him."
She turned to go, then stopped. "But, you know, I hear ocean views are best viewed in pairs, so if you ever want to find out? Just come on down the hall."
Then she was off to the elevators, a little extra swing in her step.
