The walk in the Park did her a world of good. Upon entering the shop she checked her new hat on the mirror and smiled. Yes, this look did fit nicely on her. It wasn't as ostentatious as her old hats and headpieces but one does mellow with age.

The infernal machine was fired up, this time Irulan didn't even glare at it. Progress!

You know, you'd be hard pressed to find Julie Cox not wearing a hat in her movies/TV appearances. Trufax!

Random trivia!

Aphrodite was wearing her hat. (http://www.lockhatters.co.uk/images/product_images/ladies/ProductImages/Juniper/juniper.jpg) Which was appropriate, since she was entering a hat shop.

Some of the creations she saw were truly outstanding (http://www.lockhatters.co.uk/images/product_images/ladies/ProductImages/Africa/sml_africa.jpg). Others were merely elegant. "That went out of style before my temples did. Or should have."

No matter, she was here to look for Irulan. Head held high, she spied the counter and walked briskly towards it.

(ooc: woe, I have no icon of 'Dite in a hat!)

Irulan looked up and saw Jackie enter. "Jackie!" She called with a smile, "How are you?"

"I'm good, how are you?" She gave Irulan a kiss on the cheek. "Yesterday was so busy I decided to close early this evening and come see you." Her smile grew a little bit. "I have two employees now! I really didn't think that would happen so fast."

She was taken aback by the kiss but accepted it, remembering that this time people were more physical.

"I'm doing well and enjoying my new hat," she presented said hat to Jackie. "I'm glad for you! And you do look lovely with the hat!"

"Thank you, thank you." She twirled, modeling the hat for Irulan while her short white skirt flared out just a tiny bit. "It just felt like a day for it, you know? A beautiful hat, a walk through town, some shopping. It feels great to get out of the store."

'Dite turned serious for a moment. "I wanted to ask you. Would you have lunch with me this weekend? I've seen and heard about several of the restaurants on the island, and I'd love to go, but I hate going by myself." This was something she'd never had to worry about as a goddess; the guys in golden shorts were always good company. "And I thought you, having been here before and all? You'd know the best places to go. So, will you? Go to lunch with me?"

(ooc: bedtime for the mun. SP okay?)

"It is a good day out for a walk," Irulan agreed. "And I would love to have lunch with you! Do you have any preference for food?"

"Wonderful!" She tapped her finger on her chin. "Food, food, let me think . . ."

For the first two thousand years of her existence, the goddess of love had eaten only ambrosia and nectar. Then she had discovered that she could tolerate the food and drink of mortals, even enjoy them, though her body had no need for them.

Since then, the varied flavors of the mortal palate had intrigued and amused her.

"I think anything but fish is fine. You choose. Saturday at noon? I could meet you here."

"Alright anything but fish," Irulan said with a grin. "Saturday at noon it is and I shall be here."

"And so shall I. See you then!"

With a grin and a wave, 'Dite left, stopping to admire several more hats on her way out, as well as smile at a few customers.
