Dite's Decadent Delights, Sunday Morning
It was a beautiful day out with sunshine and singing birds. Aphrodite didn't really care.
Her anger had faded to embarrassment as she watched the night turn into morning from her hotel window. Not only had she failed to fit in so far, she'd completely blown her cover by using her powers last night. If people hadn't know before then, they would now. She knew how gossip in a small town could spread.
She didn't know if she should stay, or call Cupid, or just leave the island and try to find another time and place to hide.
What she did know was that she'd agreed to meet Fiona this morning. So instead of staying in her room and glaring at the world, she'd walked -- walked!-- down to that Jeff place and gotten some muffins and orange juice. She would keep her morning appointment and then open the store. Any decisions could be made after that.
Providing Fiona showed after what she may have heard on radio last night.
Aphrodite left the blinds down, but unlocked the door, leaving it cracked a little. Then she zapped two easy chairs into existence in the center of the store. Might as well be comfortable in her last few hours on the island.
(ooc: Mainly for Fiona, but open to anyone who wants to talk to the sad goddess. The storewill open later is now open for general business!)

She dressed in her favorite green dress, did her hair as much as she possibly could, and tucked it back rather pointedly with the celestial rose that marked her as a goddess. Around her neck, she wore the sapphire necklace, the reminder of her father's family, and she promised herself that she would not fiddle with it no matter how nervous she got. And in her bag? Both yo-yos, just in case.
She was ready... hopefully.
She made her way through the door with as much grace and dignity as she could manage even though she was still sort of nervous about, well, everything and looked around for Ja--Aphrodite.

"Hey, Sweet Pea. How are you?" She smiled and waved her over to the set up chairs, but there was no enthusiasm in her actions.

Fiona made her way in and gave Aphrodite a smile before glancing at the chairs.
"I'm all right. Heard the radio last night. Guess it won't be as weird to you as I thought."
She put her hand on the chair.
"Should I sit? And, um, are you okay?"
She seemed less animated than usual.

And then she laughed a little. "I found out last night that all the squirrels that I thought were just annoying were actually spying on me. I don't know if you can out weird that. Though you seem remarkably calm about meeting the goddess of love." She leaned back, sipping on her orange juice. "What's up, Sweet Pea?"
no subject
Only not really.
"Or it'd just be really hypocritical. Because my mother's a goddess. And, um, so am I. Though not of anything specific. I don't know how that works, exactly. That's what I was going to explain."

Maybe he should pop in. "Hello?" he asked, knocking on the door.
no subject
"Well, if it isn't golden boy. How are you, Jack?"
no subject
Some people were kind of dim about what was going on around them. Like Jack.
no subject
"Jack, you do realize I sell a lot more than books, right?" She waved a hand at the inventory around her. "And the books I do sell? Not really school books, Jack."
Though he'd probably learn a few things from them.

He was not blushing. That was just the light reflecting on his face as he stared at a big floppity something that was big and bright red.

Aphrodite was sitting in one of the easy chairs in the middle of the store. If she chose to keep the store open, she just might keep the chairs there.
"What can I do for you, handsome?"

"Okay, big guy, first off, my name is Aphrodite, and I'm the goddess of love, the real one, from Olympus, Zeus was my father, and I have a son named Cupid, and ewwww!! Why would I want to put a snake in my head?"

"Jackie?" She peeked in the door. "Sort of?"

She came out from behind the counter, sliding her hands into her back pockets. "Hi, Dinah. Guess you heard, huh?"
no subject
Having met Fiona, talked to Rachel about her demony dad, Gabrielle about Ares, and having heard about angels around the island, Dinah wasn't ruling this out. What it meant, though, she wasn't sure.
no subject
She waved towards the chairs. "Wanna talk?"

Finally, she crossed to the counter, smiling at both of them, occasionally laughing to herself at comments they made.
When they were ready, she'd be at the register.
(ooc: you guys seem to be doing fine! Dite's here if you want to talk to her!)

"Hi there," he said politely. He could do polite, see. "My friend's a complete newbie when it comes to all things sex. He's seen breasts and nearly passed out. Got any recommendations him?"
[we do! we can do a alex-griff-'dite posting order so we don't overlap if that works!]
