Mooby's [Thursday Night]

Veronica triple checked the address when she walked up to the door at Mooby's.

This was where Deadpool told her to meet him to celebrate her birthday. She suddenly had a bad feeling.

It was just a hat. There was nothing to have bad, world-endy feelings about.

"How old are you now? Seventeen?"

"I feel seven," Veronica said, giggling at the hat. "This is certainly more unique than drinking at Caritas."

"Caritas doesn't have a ballpit," Deadpool pointed out helpfully. "You can booze it up anytime, you drunk. A ballpit has memories."

"Do they let adults in the ballpit?" Veronica asked.

Though now she was trying to decide if drunk people plus a ballpit would be awesome or awful.

Deadpool paused. "...think they'd say no to the crazy guy with the swords?"

Veronica laughed. "Guess not."

She was glad she was wearing jeans and not a dress as she kicked off her flip-flops.

"Before we jump in, I want a picture of us in our party hats."

"Can I throw up Blood signs?" Deadpool asked brightly. "Because, ya know. Ain't nottin' but a g thang."

"I'm not going to stop you," she said, pulling her camera out and waving down some poor, harried employee to take the photo.

They were cruel to NPC teens.

So cruel.

"Pimps up!"

Veronica laughed and threw a peace sign with her right hand.

The poor kid took two pictures, handed her the camera and took off.

"Okay. Now we can go in the ballpit."

"You're supposed to reply with 'ho's down'," Deadpool informed her sadly.

"Sorry, I'm not hip on the gang lingo these days," she apologized.

"It's this lovely show on the History Channel," Deadpool replied, wandering toward the ballpit. "I learned about gang members in Alaska."

Veronica shook her head. "They have gangs in Alaska? What do they fight over? Ice fishing territory?"

"I'm not sure, but I kinda wanna join now."

"But then you'd have to go to Alaska," she pointed out. "And that's far away."

She pushed the net aside and jumped into the ballpit.

"Well, I am Canadian. It would be like returning to my people."

He paused, preparing like a gymnast before...

"CANNON BALL!"

Veronica laughed as she got hit with some displaced plastic balls.

"Okay, this is definitely better than sitting at a bar."

"See? I know how to pick a place," Deadpool informed her smugly. "Next time... hookers and blackjack."

"As long as we don't end up in jail." she said. "When's your birthday?"

"September? October?" He shrugged. "I don't really celebrate it without setting the place on fire with the candles."

A beat.

"Oooo! Ball splash!"

"Well, you'll have to come and visit me in LA so we can celebrate," she said, splashing some balls at him.

Wow, that sounded dirtier than it was.

"Diiiirty," Deadpool agreed. "I think I might be making Nate go to New York to mock people if I remember. But we can do LA too!"
