Trooper Station; Monday Morning [ 08/03 ].
Although talking with Mina was usually nice, the topic of their conversation last night hardly was, especially piggy-backed on the fact that she'd spent an entire week investigating a ball of twine, and actually felt good about it because it really was doing a small piece, even if it was microscopic. She wanted to say that it was nice to be back in the station again, but, as she settled in to make the most out of her morning and catch up on what she could before she needed to head to the school for her class, she knew she'd much rather be trying to do something, even if it was ridiculous, than just sitting behind a desk with all this paperwork.
So there was a lot of coffee and a full-speed ahead attitude toward getting the radios transcribed for the records, and a great deal of relief that she'd decided to switch her classes around and hit up meditation today.

"Detective Reese, I presume?" said Daisy, figuring that, really, with her accent, that was the best way to put it.

There was only one other woman in the FPD after all.

She smirked too, "Well, I wouldn't be bustin' balls if some of 'em weren't standing around like it was leisure park Sunday."

And that...actually reminded her of something else she was wondering. "And how are you with computers, Detective?"
no subject
"Computers?" Reese shrugged, then sat on the edge of her table, "I'm good with them, I guess. Good as anyone who could use 'em. Don't ask me to do anything fancier than googling though."

It was a legitimate concern. She felt close to a heart attack whenever Gibbs got near one and don't even get her started about Sergeant Kowalski.

"Atari unit?" Reese repeated, "Been a while since I heard that, isn't all playstation or Nintendo crap now?"
no subject
"Every so often," shrugged Daisy, "they like to take apart all the really old stuff and see what sorts of bombs and bugs they can make with it. It's a good example of why I'm very glad I'm far from retirement."

And the smile on Daisy's face showed that she was actually incredibly sincere about that, too.

Look, if she weren't a cop, she'd probably find the prospect of making things go boom cool.

"Ta," she said. "And so where is it you're joining us from, Detective Reese?"
Of course Daisy knew, but it was just polite to ask.

Reese did not say she was from the United States of Los Angeles, that was Tidwell's schtick. Although she did feel Los Angeles was superior to, well, just about any where else.
"Los Angeles," Reese said, then raised an eyebrow, "thought that'd be makin' the rounds by now." She turned a pointed look at the Troopers around the water cooler. Although she hoped her substance abuse was still something kept under wraps.

She missed Los Angeles.
