Fiona was trying to be in a good mood today, but she just couldn't seem to manage it. She was worried, about Griff mostly and for once it had nothing to do with her relationship with him so much as just with him. There was more damage there than he was admitting to and she didn't know how to approach him, or even if she was the person who should approach him. Then there was Dinah, who also had her worried and she wanted to do something there but she wasn't sure what would be appropriate. She'd learned quite a lot the last few months about how to handle relationships, but nothing had ever said how to do something like this.

So she answered the phones and worked on her case and tried her damn best to keep her emotions turned off, no matter how hard it was getting to be.

Helpless. She was helpless again and this time there was no one to blame but her own failings.
