The Causeway, Tuesday morning

The causeway, for all intensive purposes, looked like it normally did on any other morning. Until the bubbling started off one side.

It slowly grew into what could only be described as a fount, the plume of water edging closer to the causeway itself- and then, a very tall skeleton, dressed in a black pinstriped suit, stepped out. Immediately the water returned to normal.

"I never realized that the term 'watery grave' was literal," the skeleton said aloud, "did you, Zero? It's lucky that it was or I might have been stuck..." He looked around. "Zero?" Defying medical science, his bony jaw curved downward into a frown. "Sally? Doctor Finkelstein?"

He looked down the causeway, and then peered up at Fandom. "Where on earth am I?" he said, sounding confused... and yet, intrigued.

[Up for the Townie Den Mother, but open to anyone who wants to spot him. The Pumpkin King has arrived in Fandom!]

"Popcorn, what the hell is your problem?" Robin had decided to take the dogs on a slightly earlier-than-usual walk, and had snagged the smaller ones to take in the first shift, as she wasn't feeling up to dragging around eight dogs all by herself today. And naturally, Popcorn was being a brat today for some inexplicable reason.

So it was a Robin with four dogs with her who first spotted Jack and nearly dropped her leashes as a result.

"...um."

"...this is Fandom. It's an island off the southeast coast of the United States," she said, carefully keeping her voice as neutral as possible because at least the thingie seemed friendly. She gave a little yank back on the dogs' leashes, and added, "They don't bite, sorry. Just really friendly and two of them are puppies still."

"Yearly run?" she echoed, tilting her head at him. He was very friendly. Even if he kind of looked like a...skeleton, and all.

"Okaaay, wait. Halloween Town?" She stared at him. "Like, where all the Halloweeny things live?"

"...um. Um." Okay, that was just weird. "Okay, well, that's really cool! You're going to fit in really well here, I think, 'cause we have like...witches, and supernatural crap, and there are zombies at the bar where I work, and...stuff like that? And there were vampires, kind of, a couple weeks ago. And for all I know we have werewolves, too."

"We don't always," she admitted, "but most of 'em either blend in or don't do anything to make us scared or upset, and it's just like having a friend who has some unusual practices or whatever. And most of them look just human like me, for that matter."

"...yes," she said, because that was sort of eerie. "Um, kinda. There's a party store, named the Holiday Grove, I think? I've never actually been. It's just off of Pie Lane. Oh, and I'm Robin Scherbatsky, by the way. I'm the deputy mayor."

[identity profile] canadianpopstar.livejournal.com 2009-08-11 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Robin carefully, gingerly even, shook his hand. "Likewise. Um, so, if you need anything, I'm around to help out. We have the holiday store, and there's a hotel, if you need a place to crash, too?"

[identity profile] canadianpopstar.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Robin pointed in the way of the hotel. "It's called the Arms. They should be able to help you out with a room. And beyond that, there's a couple apartment buildings, and some houses, if you need a place longterm."
