Atlas Gym [Wednesday Afternoon]

Veronica was repressing much better this week. As such, instead of beating the hell out of the punching bag, she was doing some circuit training on the various weight and cardio machines.

And maybe trying to avoid thinking about everything she had going on in the next two weeks. Like leaving Fandom and facing the Hyperion crew again. And moving in with her husband.

"No punching this week?" Fred said, going for the free weights, himself.

"Nah, way less stressed this week," Veronica said. "How's everything going?"

"Fair enough," Fred said. "Workin on a damn lesson plan for the fall."

He started some simple arm curls... practically effortless even with the fifty pounds of weight.

"What are you planning to teach?" Veronica asked, currently making use of the elliptical machine.

"How not to get married in Vegas," Fred joked.

Veronica laughed. "Very funny."

"I'm hilarious," Fred said. "The real class is 'Punching People for Fun and Profit'."

"That sounds interesting," Veronica said. "What kind of things will you be teaching?"

"Punching people, mainly," Fred joked. "And all the ways you can get paid for it. Legal, of course."

"Sounds useful," Veronica said. "Will you also teach proper punching techniques?"

"Hell yeah," Fred said. "Teach 'em to do the job right. Always."

"Sounds like fun," Veronica said. "And I suspect it will be popular around here."

"Heh. Won't be once they realize I don't mess around," Fred said. He went to start doing squat lifts. It... wasn't a pretty sight.

No, it really wasn't. Luckily Veronica had the ability to talk to someone while not really looking at them.

"Yeah, but people here like to hit things. So, it should be okay."

"Guess I really did pick the perfect island," Fred said. "If only it was more tropical, heheh."

"Yeah, winters here do kinda suck," Veronica admitted. "Then again, I'm a total California girl."

"So, a wuss," Fred joked.

"Hey, I can kick ass," Veronica said, pouting at him a little. "I just hate the cold."

"So," Fred joked, changing the subject a little. "How was the honeymoon?"

Veronica was not blushing. Her face was simply pink from physical exertion.

"It was okay. Just as unplanned as the wedding, but fun anyway. We saw Cirque du Soleil."

"So, gonna stick, huh?" Fred said. "Didn't think girls were really into them quickie weddings."

"I think it will," Veronica said. "And I'm not really a girly girl. The idea of having any kind of big fancy wedding gives me hives."

Veronica nodded. "Definitely. All that time and money and energy for one night?"
