There was a stout older woman wearing a white chef's uniform waiting for Mary when she reached the front desk. Since the woman spoke with a heavy German accent, Mary assumed it was some relative of Gunther's paying a surprise visit. Much to her surprise, it turned out to actually be Gunther.
