The Docks, Friday Afternoon

Jack was NOT about to let this island get to him. Just not gonna happen.

Which was why there was a very hot MILF sitting on the deck of her boat, relaxing in a t-shirt and jeans that were now far too baggy for her. With a baseball cap and a cold beer.

He was foregoing his usual fishing, though -- he'd steered the boat closer to shore so he could people-watch.

The hand-lettered sign -- which he'd moved to the top of the boat's cabin, just because he could -- now read:

So far Joan's day had been interesting in amusing ways. When her errands took her past the docks and she spotted the familiar figure on the boat, she dropped her bags from the store (luckily there was nothing breakable in them) and stared.

"MOM! What are you doing here? And... why are you drinking beer?"

Jack looked around curiously, and then realized she was talking to him. "Trust me, kid," he told her. "I'm not your mother. You been paying much attention to things, today?"

Joan wrinkled her nose. "You mean... you're usually a guy? And you just happen to look like my mom now?"

That was possibly weirder than her mom showing up. She couldn't decide.

Jack touched the beer to the brim of his hat in a salute. "General Jack O'Neill, at your service," he told her. "You probably go to school with the shorter version of me."

He looked down at his new body and shrugged. "And, kid, don't take this the wrong way or anything, but... your mom is pretty hot."

Joan was too distracted by the 'shorter version of him' comment to dwell on the 'your mom is hot' comment.

"Wait a sec. Jon O'Neill? The guy who looks exactly like my younger brother?"

Next time she called home, she was going to have to ask if they were related to some O'Neills.

"He does?" That got Jack to stand up, take the hat off, and peer at Joan more closely. "Yeah, 'Jon' is my clone -- it's a crazy alien's fault. What did you say your name was?"

This was so seriously bizarre. "It's Joan," she said. "Joan Girardi."

"Well, I'm very pleased to meet you, Joan Girardi," Jack told her. "Congratulations on having so many devilishly handsome family members. If I were you, I'd check and make sure Mini-Me hasn't changed into you for the day."

Jon made his way down to the docks, because he just had to find out if it was true. If this thing really was Fandom wide.

And he started giggling insanely as soon as he saw Jack, and didn't even care because it was that funny.

Claire looked from Jon to Jack and back.

"Wow, you two don't look anything alike as girls," she remarked with a giggle of her own.

Jack looked at Claire, and then at the girl he didn't know. Ah.

"Yeah, well, his DNA's all screwed up," he remarked. "Oh, c'mon, it's not THAT funny. Look at me, I'm hot."

Jon smirked, but he wasn't about to answer that. "Rumor has it we'll be back to normal before thew weekend is over."

Rumor being Layla who hadn't been wrong yet.

"I have it on good authority that it should only last for the day," Claire told them.

Good authority being Sam, who had been through this a few times.

"However, I think there needs to be photographs to commemorate this day."
