The Lightouse - Saturday

Yesterday did not happen. That was Murdock's excuse and he was sticking with it. Not that he didn't enjoy the female figure, he just preferred it on females who were normally female. At least this one didn't come with a hangover like the last time.

The lighthouse was just about done. Hard to believe. But that was a good thing. Less work for one person to keep up with.

He still had to speak to Tully at some point. Even if he wasn't looking forward to it.

In the meantime, he busied himself with touch-up work.

Tully was also going with the, 'yesterday didn't happen' method. It kind of surprised him a bit, seeing how the Lighthouse was almost done. Had it really been a year since he'd come to this island?

He made a round of the tower to see what was left to do.

"Looks like it's going well." Tully grinned. "Or did you mean life in general?"

"Yes and yes," he grinned back. "How soon do you think you'll be opening the place?"

"Early September I think. I want to have some kind of ceremony."

"That'd be cool." Beat. "Though I dunno if I'll be here for that or not."

"You're going somewhere?"

"Yah. Back home. Got some things to take care of. Be a few more weeks at the most."

"So, is this a temporary leaving, or, more permanent."

"More permanent. But I'm sure I'll be back for visits now and then."

"You'd better be back for visits Man." Tully joked. Well shit. One of the only friends he'd made here and he was leaving.

"Dude, this place is like addictive. I doubt I could stay gone forever," he laughed.

"It sure has grown on me." Tully agreed.

"Yah," he nodded. "I'll never forget this place. I mean, where else does a guy turn into a flying mini pony?"

"...Okay I missed that one."

Murdock laughed. "Some folks probably wish they had missed it. Personally, I liked being able to fly around. 'Course not everybody got wings. Much better than turning into a dog, at any rate."

"I've managed to not turn into any animals either."

"Lucky you. Still could be worse though."

Like a pair of breasts where they shouldn't be.

He nodded. "'Specially if you have a nice lady taking care of you."

Tully chuckled. "With my luck I'd wind up a stray."

"Nah. There's lots of ladies around that take you in, I'm sure. Can't seem to resist a cute pup," he smirked.

"I just hope they'd know it was me. Or the turning back would be really awkward."
