It wasn't her usual day to work, but Mary had a ton of paperwork to go through. In particular, she had to go through purchase requests from all the hotel staff and figure out which ones got approved and which ones got denied. It wasn't fun, especially after she had to deny Gunther's request for a new oven and the chef decided to sit at the front desk and glare at her until she changed her mind.

Addison had had to leave the car parked off the island -- rather a waste when she'd just had it shipped across the country -- but by the time she made her way through the town, she could understand why: it was not designed for cars.

A passing rickshaw handler had been kind enough to offer her a lift after she crossed the causeway, and she'd accepted; he dropped her off, bags in hand, at the entrance to the hotel, and she gave him rather a large tip -- not least because he was a cute rickshaw boy.

"Please tell me you have a room available," she said, a soft smile on her face. "I want nothing more right now than a hot soak and a glass of wine."

"Not only do I have rooms available, but I even have a few with jacuzzi tubs, if you'd like," said Mary, smiling.

"Oh, please," Addison said, her smile growing to match Mary's. "Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery."

"Mary Connell, owner of the Arms Hotel," she said, opening the guest register to see which rooms were open. "How long will you be staying with us in Fandom?"

Addison shook her head. "I'm not sure," she said. "I'll be looking for a house or an apartment, but I don't have anything yet. I'll be working in the clinic in town."

Mary nodded. "I think a number of people from the clinic have stayed here for a while. There are some apartment buildings in town, and there's also a couple people in town who rent out extra rooms. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding something permanent. In the meantime, I can put you in a junior suite with a separate bedroom and a large jacuzzi bathtub."

"That sounds perfect," Addison said, smiling gratefully and pulling out her credit card.

Mary handed over the key to room 607. "If you do end up staying for a while, there is a special monthly rate that works out better than the daily rate," she explained. "Just let me know if you need me to change the rate for you."

"I will, thank you," Addison said, taking the key. "Is there a room service menu in the suite?"
