Priestly was at Luke's, with no concept of his impending doom.

Instead, he was using his spare time to open up wikipedia and read up on how roller derby was actually supposed to work.

You had to know the rules before you could properly subvert them, after all.

He figured it was either that or someone had actually showed up wearing the same thing Claudia was.

He was trying to keep things light. Claudia was clearly as upset as he was over this.
