The Magic Box, Friday
Well, this was it, then. For better or for worse, Agnes would be going home soon, and this was her last day in the store.
She'd brought with her most of the things she'd bought from the store over the past few months, and spend the morning logging them back into inventory and putting them neatly on the shelves. After that, she wrote up a nice little note for Mr. Sunstrider thanking him for the job and asking that any unpaid wages she was due should be donated to charity or somesuch. After that, well... She busied herself by dusting. A place like this was ALWAYS in need of dusting.

"Kiss kiss, Agnes," she said cheerfully, ducking into the store. "You're productive today."

Karla, you're the one who arrived in May. Not Agnes. "But why?"
Someone had missed all the departures. She'd been a cat, then gone, and she hadn't really known any seniors anyway.

That didn't bring up any issues for Karla at all...
"Do you think you'll be back for a visit?"

"I hope you'll at least come back for Homecoming," she said finally. "Remind me that I'm being too flashy."

After one last squeeze, Karla pulled her hands back and glanced around. "Do you carry spidersilk?"

That might have been more believeable if Karla had actually made it to the wall before saying that.
As it was, there were several boxes of spidersilk, in varying colors even. Odd. Karla grabbed all of the undyed silk--which meant that Agnes would have to order more anyway--and, after a moment, grabbed a few lengths of the colored silks as well. Who knew if they'd have an effect on her webs or not? And, if nothing else, it didn't matter what color stitches were.
