Fish have a reputation for making people feel very calm when they watch them. You find aquariums in dentist's offices, business offices, and even government offices, for this very reason. One of the most popular screen savers for a computer is that of fish, swimming slowly back and forth.

There are experts, however, that contend this doesn't work for anyone with an overactive mind or imagination.

The voting was in, the Discus Fish had won, but Aphrodite had declared a tie and gotten all three kinds of fish for her aquarium. They seemed happy enough, swimming around the sunken ship she'd put in the fish bowl, and blinking at the diver as they swam past him.

The rest of the free 'Rub My Fishie' vibrators were on the shelf as a sale item, for five dollars a piece.

Aphrodite herself was now sitting in her chair, watching the fish, tapping her fingers on the arm chair.

It had been fun putting the aquarium together, but she was wondering when the fish were going to do something or when the calm was going to kick in.

Shilo, it seemed, had returned with questions.

"Um. Miss Aphrodite, ma'am? I wanted to ask you about something I found... in the, you know... the book? The one you gave me?"

The fish were still boring, and Aphrodite was very glad to have a customer.

"Shy-lo! Good to see you." She stood up, folding her arms and smiled down at the girl. "The book! Absolutely. You can ask me anything."

As long as it wasn't fish related.

She tugged at a piece of hair. "I-I-I always thought that it was supposed to be a woman's duty," she said quickly, while staring at her shoes. "You can enjoy it? And he won't mind?"

[Meant to mention this earlier but I might be able to help out with your plot? Let me know what you have in mind.]

For a moment, Aphrodite simply stared at Shilo. She couldn't be talking about what she thought she was talking about, right?

"Well, that depends on what it is. If it is vacuuming or doing the dishes, then it's everybody's duty, and you can certainly try to enjoy it. He shouldn't mind at all."

Then she sat back down, motioning for Shilo to sit across from her. "Now, if it is sex, then it's definitely not a duty, and if you're not enjoying it, you don't have to do it." She shook her head. "Cause, girlfriend, if you're not enjoying it, someone's doing something wrong."

Shilo took the seat. "So it's... okay to like it? And to omigod I can't believe I'm saying this enjoy your... body?"

For a moment, Aphrodite was about to flip out about sex education in this day and age. Then she remembered.

"Home schooled. Father. Riiiight."

Leaning forward, she took Shilo's hand, looking at her very seriously.

"Okay, Sweet Pea, listen to me, and listen really well. The human body is wonderful. It's capable of giving and receiving incredible pleasure. Enjoying your body, enjoying the pleasure it can feel, is one of the best gifts the gods ever game humans. And as far as I'm concerned? Not allowing yourself to experience that joy, not allowing yourself to enjoy your body is not only wrong, it's criminal."

Aphrodite waved a hand around the shop. "All this? It's all meant to please, to tease, to enhance what can be a wonderful experience. But none of it is worth anything if you can't let yourself enjoy your body. Understand?"

Shilo... nodded. Hesitantly. "So it's okay if I maybe kind of sort of started to try some of the stuff the book suggests for a beginner?"

"Absolutely!" Self-love was just great in Aphrodite's book. Everyone had to start somewhere.

"Just remember to listen to what your body's telling you. If it likes something, it'll let you know. And if you have any questions, you just come see your Aunt 'Dite." She winked.

For a beginner, Shilo seemed at least willing to try new things. Aphrodite was pleased.

'Dite should have seen Shilo's home-time. Amber Sweet would practically own the store.

"I'll keep that in mind," Shilo replied, even managing a small smile this time. Eventually she might even feel comfortable in here!
